Excellent gaming monitor for the price with great reviews. I bought this a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. Please note that this is the upgraded version (Version 2), with RGB subpixel layout which makes it better from V1 for reading text.

This is actually a LOUSY price, given what these panels cost to build- but the manufacturers are exploiting the fact that high refresh 1440P is an enthusiast gaming target. 1080P and 4K are no where near as important with serious gamers who spend loads on their hobby.

It would not be so bad, but even a good fast IPS display is hardly any kind of miracle. An incremental improvement, yes, and the best of the normal LCD techs, but in 2023 nothing amazing. OLED is obviously the true evolution, but that tech is still early, expensive, and a little under-baked.

Anyway some may care about extra features on monitors of this price range, like USB hubs, and stands that can rotate the display into a vertical position (pinball fans?)- they help justify the high price of some models.

Seems like a good deal? Not sure why it’s so low on heat?

There are rarely any good IPS deals compared with last year when you could get for example a Benq QHD 27" VESA DisplayHDR 400 for £190. Mini-LED monitors range from £450-500 so this is getting too close to that price bracket for my liking. Personally I'll wait till mini-LED monitors come down in price to around £300 for a 27" QHD or OLED £500.

Good spot, it seems they recently matched it as it used to be a bit more expensive at overclockers. (edited)
