People jumping on these for that price make me laugh.
The usual overpriced stuff because it's Ninja...
Even at £120 the set without the scissors is massively overpriced.

You can get a better set of knives (with scissors) with a better self sharpening block for £76 -
    amazon.co.uk/Hen…8-6

Each knife slot (except the serrated, and the scissors obviously) have their own ceramic sharpener in that one, and it's a superb set or knives.

Budget Zwilling & Henckles (i.e. Henckles International) stuff like that is far better than this Ninja set, as expected from a company that specialise in knives.

A tip for anyone sensible enough to buy the Henckles set over the Ninja: You don't need to put any pressure on the knife when you withdraw from the block to sharpen it, the weight of the knife itself is fine.
A couple of swipes will have you ready to go.

The fact this deal has more heat than the deal for that Hencles set got when it was £65 is joke... (edited)

The Henckels knives are actually inferior to the Ninja knives. They're cheap stamped knives whereas the Ninja ones are forged. The design of the block is also worse - you don't need to sharpen, taking material off the blade - every time you remove from the block...

Forgive me for my ignorance but over £100 for some knives?! Has the world gone mad?! (edited)
    sheffield788's avatar
Over £100 is not bad for decent knives. Saying this, there are better brands out there. £200-300 is a realistic price for very good knives. At £100 you get better than the usual knives in the shops, but nothing outstanding. I'd rather buy Henckels or Zwilling at this price, they are specialised in making knives and have a long history behind. While Ninja is a new brand making different kitchen stuff. (edited)

Now that I've plopped down £130 (scissor set) - can any current owners/experts tell me whether these are worth the money? They look great from a quick googling!
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Not worth anything near the money, massively overpriced.
This Henckels international set is better in every way -

Love all the comments rubbishing these knives without having used them nor knowing which company has made these on behalf of ninja
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
So, which well established steel/knife specialists manufacture these for Ninja?
Do they also manufacture the nasty plastic block they come with?

The only info I can find is that they are assembled in China, nothing about who manufactures the steel or whether Ninja actually own either the company that manufactures the steel (which is at least German) or the company that assembles the knives.

Also, being 'German steel' doesn't mean that much, there are plenty of low budget knives that are made with German steel. Not all German steel is made equal.

Compare that to the cheaper but better Henckes International set I posted about above.
Zwilling & Henckles themsleves manufacture the steel (which they are famed for), and Henckles International own the factory that assembles the knives in China. Zwilling/Henckles are in charge of manufacturing, assembly, and quality control from start to finish. (edited)

Just buy yourself a diamond Steele if you want to sharpen your knives. £20-£40 depending on brand.
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Or if you do need a set of knives, buy this Henckels Intnernational set, superior in every way -
    amazon.co.uk/Hen…725 (edited)

That’s expensive! You can get five knifes from Tesco for about £19.
    That’s a £100 saving! 🙌💯 (edited)

    Knife sharpeners exist.

    And they are cheap.
    CynicalNurse's avatar
But you still need to buy some good quality knives.

Not sure how this is so hot if the code isn't widely available. Looks like a great deal but surely it can't be a deal if no one can get it for that price!?

£169.99 for me, I think it's account specific so not a great deal for me
    Ashbeck's avatar
The deal title says with code (via email). It's £169.99 for everyone unless you were emailed a code or request one (which someone can hopefully provide)
  27. haa0518's avatar
What next 2-300 for a cooking pot?
    ArchBants's avatar
People pay £250 for a basic le creuset casserole dish and will use it twice.

Just over £100 for incredible knives you'll use multiple times every day that remain constantly sharp are a bargain.
  28. abe1234's avatar
I guess they don't stay sharp as they come with a sharpener.
