Clean, Tidy & Protected

The Auto Reel neatly stores and protects the hose in a tough UV stabilised case, ensuring the hose remains protected, therefore extending its life.

180 Degree Coverage
The robust wall bracket allows the Auto Reel to pivot 180 degrees. It can be easily fitted or removed from the wall, and includes convenient storage points for your fittings & accessories.

Feeder Hose & Park Point
Store the feeder hose when not in use. This is very useful when tidying the unit away in winter. The leak free parking point prevents drips when storing in your shed or garage.

Integrated Child Lock
This convenient lock prevents the hose from being pulled out by children, ensuring the hose is only pulled out when needing to water the garden.

Had one of these for 5 years, until the auto retract mechanism gave up. They're good to have and look nicer than a normal hosepipe holder, but they do fail eventually. My dad's one did the exact same.

My 25m one failed after 4 years 3 months, and they send a replacement in 2 days honouring the 5 year guarantee. I hadn't even registered any guarantee, just a photo of a label on the hose with year of production

The locking mechanism on my first 40m Hozelock Autoreel (original green version) failed, so replaced it with the newer grey version which started leaking after about 3 years.

Turned out that an internal o-ring had failed due to apparently being over pressurised.

So ensure you turn off at the tap and leave the end fitting/nozzle open when retracting so not to pressurise the hose and make it leak internally. You'll be surprised how much water is actually expelled from the open end when retracting which would have had to try and go somewhere if the end nozzle is closed

So, had this happen on a newer grey 40m one which was replaced under warranty in 2 days.

Then the replacement was also replaced after a month or so when the hose ended up with a huge, 50cm 'bleb' appearing one day @ 15m caused by the hose rupturing internally apprently due to manufacturing fault. Sounded like the CSA had heard about this happening before.

They didn't even want the nearly new unit back either, so chopped the hose @ 20m (about 23m actually) and sold it for £60.

Touch wood, this one has been OK, but I've tempted fate there haven't I? :/

When it does go pop again and it will, if out of warranty, will buy a Gardena unit.

Another tip, is to wrap a damp cloth around the hose when retracting to prevent grit and other muck being pulled into the main unt.

Lastly, don't let the hose retract as speed as you will break the locking mechanism which is just a piece of plastic.

At the end of the day, these are a game changer and you'll never want to manually wind up a hose pipe ever again. 😁 (edited)

I've been using one for the last 18months and I love it. Won't go back to a manual rewind now.
Tip is though when you rewind it ,don't just let it go - walk it back in to save the mechanism from to much strain.

Agreed. Really good. But mechanism went on mine. Had to buy again.

Just do one thing, buy Gardena! I have had two Hozeleak, both failed inside 24 months, broken spring. I'm on my third summer with Gardena.

Same size 20m Gardena is £90 at Amazon at the moment, far superior to this. I had hozelock for years and upgraded to a 35m gardena and the difference in quality is huge.

For some reason Gardena deals always go freezing cold on here but I guarantee if you invest in one you will appreciate that they are on different levels.
