    If you have a peephole you can get a ring doorbell that installs through it. Very easy and it has a rechargeable battery. No wires. Had it myself for a couple of years now. Battery lasts for ages.

    I am big fan of my present ringcam BUT, i live in a flat and my door faces straight at my neighbours front door, and they are new, so what i want is one of these doorbells fixed to my door frame pointing sideways across my door, that way i can still use it for people at the door and not worry about any privacy issues..........but i will miss my ringcam, so easy to use and run.

    Buy the plug in adapter, very long cable on it several metres, to hide wire , you can get 8mm trunking screwfix.

    Great door bell, fitted several, mines been running for a couple of years , paid subscription. Very good.
    I bought a refurbished one last time for customer, very good price and same as new , original sealed Box and perfect aesthetic condition as new. (edited)

    Just wanted to add this about the subscription cost (£35 a year) in that I was put off a bit by this originally and didn't want anything that was sub based. But after biting the bullet and giving it a go, I'm currently on my second year subscription and I wouldn't be without it now. It's actually come in handy more times than I can think of including helping out with a crime. The piece of mind it has given is worth more than the £35 I've paid. The fact that your footage is stored in the cloud and not an SD card too helps if it was ever stolen. Seriously, the cr@p I spend on a single night out is easily worth missing one of those for an entire years subscription to this. If you've got elderly relatives too, just get them a cheap Amazon Alexa with screen and they aren't having to get up all the time to answer the door to find the person didn't wait and walked off.

    Ordered to replace battery powered version on which the camera lens has degraded.

    Arrived same day and was brand new with all the seals and protective tapes in place. Currently 3D printing a corner mount/rain cover for it before installation.

    Don't buy this version, the black rubber button will crack especially if the sun is on it for long. I clean windows for a living and I see loads of them. Don't say I didn't warn you!

    Once you have set up the doorbell via the Ring app on your phone, you can then set up a subscription from the Ring app. (edited)

    If anyone got this deal in time and are missing the 31day free trial of ring protect , I messaged them on chat and they honoured the months free trial . Issue is that the device was previously registered with another account that used the trial (as it’s refurbished) . A message to chat support solved it! It’s a great device!
