Looks to still be available...? Ah scrub that - can't be bought. Meh.

I believe they will replace stolen ones (once at least) and they are probably useless once reported stolen anyway as they can probably be blocked. Not to mention stealing one without being caught on one is probably difficult.

Out of stock :D

You can screw it into the bracket :)

I think they all use the same battery.

Thanks OP. Tempted, but thinking a solar panel/charger mightbe a better option for me. They're not a lot more than a spare battery.

Thanks. Still a 99p saving :). "Doesn't mater if you save a penny or a pound, saving is saving" "Every little helps" Have some heat (y) . Thanks for taking the time regardless for posting us deals. I looked and cannot find a deal. It's not for me but regardless still a deal

2.4GHz is very common and used by everyone, 5GHz is faster but the signal don't travel as far also not as good through a number of walls ect, looks like due to the problems with rings doorbell being laggy and slow.

It's sending realtime video and sound, and some people had trouble with the Ring 2's WiFi reception, so it makes sense to add 5GHz.

Does anybody know why a dorbell would need 5GHz ?

That's new to me.

Your post prompted me to check his 'previous'. Good Lord, here's a person who seems to relish disharmony lol. On ignore now.

You mean since his first post since he joined two weeks ago. I'm sure another lease car deal will be along shortly to divert his attention.

He's been trolling since his first comment. At least I hope he has because if he hasn't...just wow.

Gen 2 has the person dection also to try conserve battery life by only setting motion off when it dectets a person, this feature can be disabled also.

Cheers mate (y)

Its very confusing, Gen 2 also lists having near zone motion feature which I thought was a benefit of doorbell 3?!, my driveway is 5 metres and near zone range is 3.5 to 4.5 metres so think that would work. Looks like 3 has Person detection, thats the only improved feature on motion detection I can see.

Unfortunately all battery powered video doorbells need to conserve battery which means they have to compromise a bit on some features and they’re not quite as good as their hard wired counterparts.

I wouldn't recommend this. My ring does not pick up masked people yet it picks up moving cars.

Ring was so annoying... It doesn't come with a chime.. You also need to buy a separate transformer to use the powered mains version... And the video is crappy and monthly fees

Is there one which can release the door to open also?

Which one?

Nest® Hello Video Doorbell & Google Home Hub - Chalk Bundle £229.99 @ Electrical showroom
Posted 9th AugPosted 9th Aug
The perfect security bundle to get you started to the smart home life. Includes Nest Hello Video Doorbell and Google Home Hub.

Keep in mind you can use the Hub as the Doorbell chime. Which is handy if you don't already have a mains doorbell installed. Just order one of these and you can avoid the added install of a chime and transformer, and be safe in the knowledge the Nest Doorbell is hooked up to the correct voltage.

It will mainly be people voting cold because they disagree on the cost of and/or the point of a £150+ doorbell. Completely not the way to vote on HUKD in my opinion, but hey ho.

Not sure why people are voting cold on this one. The current price of the Home hub is £79.99 so effectively making the doorbell £150.

Really bad with notification delays. To the point of being key useless. I usually with the motion alerts but often when doorbell pressed too. Massive pain in the... Neck when you find someone has left by the time you hear the delayed notification and go to a window to look out. I don't even try to use the app because it takes even longer to start up and connect so you can interact with the visitor. Tried a few things, they even sent me a replacement unit free of charge but its so bad I'm still looking at Nest. Google home "integration" is laughable IMO because AFAIK users (in the U. S.? ) have been promised better Google home features arriving in December 2019. (annoyed) That's after users asking for it and it being promised for ages.

Keep an eye on CEX for a grade B Nest Hello. They go for £145. Currently out of stock but they do come and go. The grade A is £160

I think it is 1st gen

Is this the first generation Google home mini or the second generation nest home mini? Hoping for a typo on their website but assuming it's first gen? (:I

Thank you bud... now, do i go for the wireless or the wired....

Just reading this post and spotted Amazon have just added a 20% coupon to the wireless one, so only 159.99 now. Can even go for no rush delivery 158.99 bargain for you :)

Thank you again man, really helpful.

Just gives you more time to think! looking on camelcamelcamel, the wireless has dropped to £160 during the middle of June, and July, so possibly will in August as well... This was the first time the wired has been so low, but hasnt been on Amazon as long, so likely will reduce again in the future. One thing I considered when thinking of wired vs wireless, is something you eluded to, and thats the base unit. you get 16GB storage on the base unit vs 4gb on the wired receiver. Much more useful if you decide to add Eufy security cameras to your house in the future.

Meh! The deal has gone so that sorts out that decision!

If someones stealing your doorbell where you live its proper CCTV you need not a ring or eufy or nest. Either way I take the point made that if someone steals it then footage is gone.

And if it gets stolen then your video evidence goes with it - as the video is only stored in the doorbell itself. That would be enough for me to discount it unfortunately. (I've got a ring pro, and am resigned to ponying up the £25 annual subscription cost for the cloud storage) I see that Eufy also do a battery powered doorbell - that stores the video footage on a separate unit inside the home (that is also the chime) - If they could combine the two (so you get the benefit of the powered unit (records for a few seconds prior to the alert - which is often needed to capture the ACTUAL event) + the local storage NOT in the doorbell they'd be onto a winner in my books.

No not at the moment the videos are stored on a SD card in the unit. Anker/eufy have stated that it will come in a future update that it can store videos on the home hub. They do tend to stick to there promises just not the time scales

The only problem is that if this gets stolen, you don't get a replacement

This seems a better alternative to Ring

I can't remember where I read it, but don't think there is a way to exclude them other than to put them into do not disturb.

Does anyone happen to know if you can choose the devices that are notified when the doorbell rings? I.e. we have a few google home minis around and there's a couple close to the kids rooms that Id prefer not to go off. Thanks in advance!

lucky you that get WIFI for free at home

You’re very welcome. My order took ages to arrive. It ended up being around 6 or 7 weeks. I chased them up a couple of time and in fairness they were always helpful & quite apologetic. They stated that the delay was to do with their supplier and was Covid related. I’ve never ordered from them before so I’ve no idea what the delay is usually like. I was happy to wait as the price was so much cheaper than elsewhere.

Best price I have seen for the Ring Doorbell. Obviously not as good as the latest versions of this, but still works and still a deterrent.

wow pretty good I usually see these for over £100 lol, I definitely haven't been looking hard enough

Thank you! We live in a very old farmhouse without a spy hole. I actually got a Ring 3 Plus yesterday in Argos on offer and installed it last night. Seems to work very well!

If you’re in a rented property and it has a spy hole/peephole in the front door then the Ring door view cam is made especially for these type of circumstances. it replaces your existing spy hole/peephole which you can put back if you ever leave the property. No drilling necessary, it’s battery operated and the battery enclosure sits on the inside of the door.

As someone who has no doorbell at all currently, and mainly want this for the motion detection cctv side of things, what do I need to buy and what is the best value for money? It’s a rented property so I want something I can easily remove and hasn’t got to be hardwired. Don’t want to go down the route of having proper CCTV installed so thought a motion detect doorbell might be an idea.

Yearly subscription is £25 - hardly breaking the bank now is it? Must be something at your end as my V2 on WiFi calls my phone in about 3 seconds.

Hi jaypr, or anyone who has done similar to include a mechanical chime, how would the wiring up look like with the ring doorbell pro, the transformer and this chime?

I have a ring 2 and it's wired properly. How can I get a android tablet to automatically show me the front door when the motion detection or doorbell event happens?. Any ideas?

Can any ring alarm customers give me some advice to a newbie?! Bought the ring alarm in this deal, installed it and went away this last week on a trip. Came back and opened the front door and was expecting some sort of action, like the lights on the control panel to come on, or a countdown or beeps. I didn’t enter the code or touch the panel as i thought it obviously isn’t armed. So I check the app and actually it is armed - it’s in away mode; it even says underneath in recent history that the front door is opened. So I’m perplexed. The ring alarm knows it’s armed and in away mode, and it knows the front door has been opened like two minutes ago. And to know all this it obviously has no problem with internet access. Err hello? So I’m thinking I must be being a dumb dumb and haven’t turned something obvious on - can anyone who has set this up successfully advise?

I did this code (also a subscriber) thanks to joedeejay2oo4. I ordered the ring doorbell pro for £144 using that code on Thursday night with confirmation email. Yesterday got a despatch email, delivery by DPD was mid to late this morning :)

So many apps don't work with huawei. When I had one fitbit and android auto never worked. Same issues, the phone stopped the apps.

I got rid of my Huawei after 18 months of suffering with apps not working because of the battery optimisation. All the apps that stopped working properly when I got a Huawei phone now work fine again. Some apps work OK on Huawei if you configure them under app launch, and battery optimisation in settings but some still don't work even then.

Yes i have Huawei but i gave all permissions to the app and checked battery optimisation.

It will be your phone causing issues with notifications, probably due to battery optimisation not letting the app run in the background. Do you have a Huawei phone by any chance?

Yeah I agree. Best way is just to insure under home insurance.
