This is NOT a NAS!!
(Thought worth saying that up front)

A QNAP TR-004 4-Bay expansion box OR can be used as Direct Attached Storage.

The TR range IS capable of Hardware RAID - just not on the network - via USB.

In comparison the TL range of expansion boxes is just a JBOD and needs an existing RAID system to manage it.

QNAP page:
qnap.com/en-…004

Here's a useful video comparing them:

For me I think I'll expand via an 8-Bay TL box, but have been keeping an eye on these.

Note: NO disks include - empty bays.

Sold by Amazon EU
Amazon box says import fees included. I've not bought something like this so don't know how it works.
I imagine this would come with a EU plug rather than UK.

Again, buy directly from Amazon.de and you will get a better warranty support and save £8. (edited)

Price is fair enough as 2 bays are for £145. I've been looking for it for a while, but 4 bay enclosure for £168 is very nice.
I was just wondering how much power consumption will use it (edited)

Amazon.de were selling this for £160 using a fee free card. I think it was the same stock as both have now gone OOS.

What is the MAX HDD Capacity?

I have 4 X 18TB in it with no issues. I cannot imagine any issues with 22TB drives either.
