Fantastic deal for 16gb and 1tb!

That should future proof this machine for a long time to come! My old man’s still using my hand me down 2009 MacBook Pro

Try googling open core legacy patcher. I have installed 13.5 Ventura on my 2009 MBP and everything works just fine. I also have it installed on a 2012 MBP and that works better with the newer Intel chip but the 2009 is just fine for light work now.

Curious if anybody here has one of these and how they use these?

I am a video producer for a living and this looked good as a second, travel laptop.

Do lighter work on it compared to my windows laptop.

I actually bought this specifically for editing 4k videos and did a lot of research beforehand and it seems video post production (davinci resolve) shouldn’t be a problem on this. Haven’t set it up and started editing yet though.

Just received this today - came with a lot of marks across the case that could be rubbed off to make fainter but unfortunately some deeper scratches. Will see what Technoworld says but a bit unfortunate as was hoping to gift!

The casing of the MacBook itself? Did yours not arrive sealed in cellophane?

I posted this earlier at the slightly cheaper price but not by much. It went expired but I have confirmed with Techno World that they are very much in stock and ready to ship. I got mine within 24 hours almost.

Deal expired due to the slight price increase, reposted so users know it’s still available

    Ordered, thanks OP.

I'd been waiting for a 16/512 at a decent price without much luck, so to get 16/1tb for 999 was ideal.

Finally replacing my (upgraded) 2010 MBP!

Hoping to get 7+ years out of this.

Ordered to replace my 2013 MBP.

Urgh, now I have to make a decision. Do I buy this perfectly capable but totally unexciting device for what’s a great price but at the same time so much money that what’s another £600 for something brand new.
I have a 2020 Intel Air (really bad timing but it wasn’t my decision - Apple replaced my old 12” MacBook which they broke) which is the reason this would be a hugely underwhelming purchase. It’d just be nice to be able to play 60fps YouTube videos and not despise my own laptop.

was that a bricked logic board? (edited)

My laptop arrived (I selected free delivery and it arrived next working day).

10 minutes on the phone with Apple sorted the purchase date so the warranty started ticking from the correct time.

Absolutely loving it so far, and a timely upgrade from my now defunct MacBook Pro.

Thanks again for the heads up on this

Did you have to provide the receipt with the serial number? Apple insists that I provide an invoice containing the serial number in order to update the warranty.

Finally given in and purchased one, seems like a stonking deal for 16gb/1tb! It's the push I needed to finally upgrade from my 2012 MacBook Pro, which to be fair is still quite nice to use, it's just a bit hot and noisy by modern standards and runs its battery down fairly quickly even when it's in standby mode. I'm hoping this will feel like a pretty big leap, I'm especially looking forward to the considerably higher resolution screen!

I’m coming from a 7 year old asus gaming laptop (that won’t even turn on if it’s not plugged in) and I’m looking to use this for video editing and post production work so we’ll see how it goes! Good luck to you too!

Ordered one of these before even at £999 this is still a cracking deal for a M1 Air.

    heat added.

I picked up the 256gb version from very for £611, brilliant machine I can tell this will last atleast a decade for what I use it for. The M1 chip is spot on

Unless you tell us what you use it for, that's a silly statement to make

It’s showing as in stock and I could add one to cart. Could be bothered to make an account to view the cart though.

Can you add apple care to this purchase from apple?
    SantoshKaushik's avatar
    Yes you can

It is a very good deal. I looked at techno world website. Do they sell new items on their price or refurbished ? (edited)
  15. odinsmasher28's avatar
Arrr if that offered extended warranty I could get work to pay 😔

    Any discount codes for Technoworld?

I've used these at work and they work brilliantly, nice and rapid for office work etc.

Does it matter for longevity that they are discontinuing the M1 and from my understanding no devices will use the M1 after they have cleared the current stock.

Short answer: who knows, but I wouldn’t be too worried about it.
Macs have always been supported for years: 7-8 years according to the MacOS Sonoma wiki, though they seem to be phasing out Intel Macs more quickly now. My assumption is that they’ll support their own silicon for at least as long as they used to, if not longer. But just an assumption. No idea though whether they’d support the M1 Air for 8 years from now (given they’re still selling it) or 8 years from its release 3 years ago.
Also they can keep running happily enough for years after they can’t have the latest OS.

Yep the casing of the Macbook, arrived in all packed up as you would normally expect but once opened with everything peeled off there were some clear markings
    beerlyalive's avatar
I wouldn't worry, Technoworld are really good and it's super easy to get in touch with an actual human who will help sort it out.

Is this ANSI or ISO layout? The pictures obviously show ANSI, just wondering from anybody that received it?
    George287's avatar
I'd be interested to know this too, I think I'd prefer ISO, although my current MacBook keyboard is ANSI and it's never bothered me (I think it was a grey import).

If no one else answers, I'll reply again once mine has arrived. (edited)

Is this still in stock, I just seem to be getting the gold option?

50815669-qkC5E.jpgYoure right, grey now out of stock (edited)

I ordered one of these and it has arrived and everything is great. One question though. These have the 8 core cpu and 8 core gpu but on the apple website if I spec the m1 air out to this configuration it says it has 8 core cpu and 7 core gpu. Anyone know why these have 8 core gpu and (silly question) does that mean these are better?

    Thanks
