Maintaining your professional look day to day should be effortless. Our ProSteam® Technology means that your shirts look sharp for longer by enabling you to reduce creases by up to one third. Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibres. Keeping your clothes looking and feeling impeccable, every day.

LESS IRONING. CLOTHES REFRESHED
Use steam as a quick and easy way to refresh clothes instead of a full wash. The short, gentle steam program safely removes odours as well as reducing creases helping you to extend the life of your clothes. Or you can finish your wash cycle with a gentle steam so clothes need little to no ironing.

THE UNIVERSALDOSE DRAWER - PUTS EXTRA POWER IN COLD AND QUICK WASHES
UniversalDose is a unique drawer designed for PODS® capsules that uses tailored waterjets to soften and pierce PODS® in the drawer, activating them 60% faster, compared to when placed in the drum. This gives extra power to stain removal in cold and quick 1-hour washes.

MYMIX 69MIN PROGRAMME. SAVES YOU TIME. THOROUGHLY CLEANS CLOTHES
Achieve optimal performance and outstanding cleaning results with MixLoad 69 min. Perfect for cleaning daily mixed loads of cottons and synthetics, it washes clothes at 30°C and in just 69 minutes saving you time and energy.

CARING FOR CLOTHES. SAVING WATER AND ENERGY
ProSense technology® automatically weighs each load to provide a tailored cycle. Sensors adjust washing times precisely with just the right amount of water used, ensuring optimum treatment for every garment whilst saving water and energy.

REMOVES MORE THAN 99,99% OF BACTERIA AND VIRUSES FROM CLOTHES
Our Swissatest-certified Anti-Allergy Vapour programme combines a wash and steam cycle to remove more than 99,99% of bacteria and viruses. Washing above 60°C reduces allergens and ensures clothes become more hygienic and clean.

If looking at AEG you can often times do the research to find out what the same appliance model number is under the Zanussi and electrolux branding, in case its at a cheaper price elsewhere - with often the chance to extend the warranty to 5 years at the retailer. An appliance repairman told explained a few things but he said funnily enough the Electrolux/Zanussi/aeg machine that has the John Lewis branding is often times a better machine with the odd key part being of a slight better quality. AEG is the most premium of the Electrolux family and the fit, finish reflect this.

We have a similar Prosteam 700 Lavamat model for over four years and the best washing machine we have had. A family of 6 adults, (can't get rid of my 3 DC and elderly Mum) and machine on at least three times a day and frequently more. DC are into gym and rugby so lots mingy washing. Before we got this machine we went through most branded washing machines at least once every two years and sometimes less. Seemed to be the minute the warranty up the machine developed faults. I've never used the steam bit but frequently overload machine with bath sheets at 95c and also a quick 20 min wash and no problems. It also has an eco function and can speed up washing times twice. Can't comment on price but was around same price then as many of my colleagues couldn't believe I was paying so much for a machine. We looked at so many machines as we were fed up with them breaking down and so glad got our AEG.

I can't comment on this model but we weren't impressed with our AEG Powercare machine. We're not particularly hard users (one load about every other day) but it managed to fail under warranty and the quibbly customer service left a lot to be desired - especially when you're paying well over the odds for peace of mind and legendary German craftsmanship. Yes, any machine can fail, but you do expect a bit better when you're paying almost a grand for a washing machine.

Went to a cheapy LG (was actually a recommendation from the engineer that AEG sent)! Might even try some Chinese rubbish next

650cm depth seems deeper than average. Is that more than normal. Don't think this big boy is going to fit my 60 depth worktop. /Sigh back to the drawing board. (edited)

I normally factor in 4cm extra in case the way the hose and cables are arranged between the wall and the washer. But yes for a washer is deep
  5. capa's avatar
Wonder what is meant by Depth Max (mm) 660 in the technical info, does that include or exclude hose? (edited)
    androidavis's avatar
With the door it’s 66cm deep. The products manual seems to confirm.

my lg direct drive washing machine has been going for 12 years now, is this better? is the steam feature worth it? I don't mind paying the 500 if its worth it

If your LG is still going then stick with it unless you need a new one!
