Locations: jdwetherspoon.com/pub…ubs

App: jdwetherspoon.com/pub…app

On Thursday 14 September, Wetherspoon’s pubs are to cut the price of all food and drinks by 7.5 per cent – to highlight the benefit of a permanent VAT reduction in the hospitality industry.

Prices at the pubs will be reduced for one day only to mark Tax Equality Day (in Scotland, prices will be reduced on food and non-alcoholic drinks, in line with Scottish licensing laws).

For example, a customer spending £10 on food and drinks will pay only £9.25 on Tax Equality Day.

Given how much they have increased their prices recently, it’s hardly a saving.

i was just thinking that. By the time we get to this deal Spoons will have increased their pints by more than 7.5%

Even if it were a 100% discount I'm far too good for spoons. 🇪🇺

I mean it’s basically a Tesco ready meal plus heating for about the same price. I’m not expecting the ritz when paying £4 for a curry.

Patiently waiting for the comments about how Tim treated his staff during covid blah blah blah.
Love spoons and love a good discount.

Same in Wales. The extra tax saves lives, apparently...

Is this available to everyone as I only ever see over 60s in there?
    iSoupz's avatar
That's just because it's only the over 60s who can stomach the microwaved food.

Mrs B and me will be popping into our local Spoons this evening which luckily combines the 7.5% off with Curry Club.

Just put 2x chicken tikka masala meals with Naan, Vodka Pineapple Crush/Britvic tonic and a pint of Leffe for me in the basket on the app. Total price? £17.73

    Nuts. (edited)
