Does this come with software to clone my current drive to this one? If not is there good free software that can do it?

Macrium Reflect 8 Free edition is probably the best.
It's been withdrawn from Macrium's own site as it's obviously TOO good and they want people to buy their paid-for editions, lol -

Which heat sink is this best paired with, for PS5?
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
If you want an easy peasy option, the Sabrent PS5 heat sink is the best option. It costs a little more but it's custom made for the PS5 and makes the whole process super quick and easy. You literally just replace the SSD bay cover with the heat sink and you're done (edited)

Rather a good deal indeed. Thanks

So, for those after a SSD for their PS5, seems a good dead

*Feel free to update this list.*

The ADATA SSDs seems cheap, but reviews on Amazon seem to state a high failure rate on PS5s and no support in the UK from ADATA.

Will I need a heatsink to use this in a ps5?
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Always best to be safe and use protection.

Search Amazon for Thermalright M.2 heatsink, the £4 is perfectly fine. (edited)

Looks like a very good deal. My PS5 is finally going to get an SSD installed! Looking forward to not having to delete constantly.

I'll pair it with a cheap PS5 heatsink from Amazon.
    Moody_Cloud's avatar
The custom Sabrent one is perfect. It's designed for the PS5 and makes the whole process so simple. I picked it up for a tenner in April last year but it tends to go up in down in price. Works perfectly though and is idiot proof.

My laptop only supports PCIe Gen 3. This is a good price for a 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD (with DRAM). It being PCIe Gen 4 is a nice bonus for future-proofing even if I can't utilise its full speeds now.

Will I still need a heatsink or will the reduced speeds through the interface limit the heat output?
    gnsks's avatar
In my experience Gen4 drives run hotter than Gen3 even when idle. If getting a heatsink is not too much of a hassle it would be advisable to get one.

Great price! I paid £200 for the 2TB MP600 Core just over a year ago! Seems crazy how cheap Gen 4 SSDs have gotten!
    fishmaster's avatar
    It was long long overdue.

Can't hold off any longer... Time to upgrade the 1tb in my PS5 to 2tb then donate the 1tb to my laptop which has been running on a paltry 512gb SSD for far too long!

    Cheers OP

Do you use a heatsink for the m.2 in the ps5?

The only problem I have with these deals is I can’t put any of these drives in my 256gb M1 MacBook Air 😔 typical Apple… (edited)
    TerryT's avatar
Same boat. Prefer windows OS but Apple make the best laptops imo and it isn’t even close, but their business model of stopping upgrades (or charging a laughable amount for storage) is something where I long for a worthy competitor to kick them off their pedestal.

Monopolies are bad. If windows can only figure out how to make a trackpad (surface, xps, they all utterly suck) and make lid closing/opening on their laptops reliable/predictable I would gladly pay as much or more than I do for Apple hardware.

Yep, hopefully the one I ordered yesterday will arrive tomorrow then. Good timing haha!

As with the expired Amazon deal, superb price for a high end drive!
No competition at all at this price.
£80-90 is the going price for gen4 DRAM-less TLC NAND drives at the moment, this deal makes them all pointless to buy!

Real world performance is around that of the £96 Crucial P5 Plus but with higher sequential speeds.
If you want a good 2TB drive right now, you'd be silly not to get this before stock is gone/the price goes back up. (edited)

Cheers OP, ordered earlier this week and arrived the next day Cheaper and faster than the 980 Pro, was a no brainier for me
  16. AtlasKoalas's avatar
Ordered it around 8AM this morning accepting there'd be a bit of a wait but i thought i got lucky when i got the dispatch email around 11AM. Just checked though and it's back in stock so if you were on the fence about getting it, i say order it before it goes out of stock
  17. DirtyQwerty's avatar
Thanks for this. Bought yesterday, arrived today and only took me (a total amateur) 15 minutes to install with the £4 heat sink from Amazon. Going to be so nice to not have to delete games and redownload all the time.
    sazal's avatar
can you link me to the heatsink please. Just ordered this now.
  18. TeddyLegs's avatar
Is a heatsink needed in a mid tower?
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Depends on the case cooling, but for drives with DRAM cache I'd say it's always best to get a heatsink.
    So yes.

Such a shame the prices plummeted like crazy I lost over £100 over this sudden change.
Bought a Adata S70 for £150 and next month it dropped down to £99.
Bought a 4tb for PS5 and on Primeday it dropped down by £50.

This PS5 really made me loose a lot of money.
    Davidp87's avatar
my 4tb for my ps5 cost £700 lol
  20. dajoebomb's avatar
Its on preorder now. I have bought anyway
  21. Lloydinio's avatar
So if I put this in a PS5, will it add 2tb to the storage or am I replacing the 1tb that it comes with
    Shock's avatar
    The first.

  23. helal94's avatar
Can I use this in an enclosure? Can anyone recommend a good one ?
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Yep, no problem in an enclosure. Just remember your sequential speeds will not be close to the max speeds of your drive (unless you have USB4/TB3 or 4), max sequential speeds will be that of your USB port or the enclosure type (whichever is slowest).

I have a couple of these 10Gbps enclosures (one is an external Windows boot drive the other just storage) and they've been working perfectly.
