Fly drives do exactly what they say on the tin – you get a flight over the pond and a set of wheels thrown in. So, if you fancy exploring on your own, you can mix up motels and hotels each night and do something different every day. You could be shaking hands with Mickey one morning and roller-blading along Miami’s sidewalks the next. You see, fly drives give you the total freedom to do things your way, at your own pace. Perfect if you don’t want to be based in just one place. And what’s so good about a TUI Fly Drive is that we give you unlimited mileage so you can really hit the open road. Plus, you won’t get stung by any of those nasty ‘out-of-state’ driving charges. In true road-trip style, you can Thelma and Louise your way across the States.

What Happens on a Fly Drive?

We’ll fly you out to Florida where you’ll be met by a TUI Advisor. They’ll point you in the direction of the car hire people and set you on your way. After that, it’s totally up to you. Theme parks. Everglades. Shopping malls. It’s all there for the taking. At the end of your stay, you just need to head back to the airport, hand over your keys and check-in for your flight home. It’s that easy.

In order to hire the car, you have to take out the rental insurance that can be pre-booked or paid for locally. Remember, each driver needs to present a valid driving licence and a credit card in the driver’s name which serves as a security deposit.

If you don't already have Estas, you won't be flying tomorrow, and probably not the 25th either.
Certainly don't book & pay any cash until everyone has their Esta application confirmed. It can take up to 72 hours.

Did this deal in May from Birmingham.

Get car hire separately - we've used carrental.com a number of times.

Melbourne is a great small airport and flight was great. First time we've flown with 3 kids too.

It's an hour or so away from Orland proper if you want to do international drive etc.

Watch out for this. 'In order to hire the car, you have to take out the rental insurance that can be pre-booked or paid for locally.'

We’re 72 and the kids are 40. Do we qualify?

You don’t need to take the car if the insurance is going to be too much

You could always buy your insurance over here. You'll save a small fortune.

Insurance not included on the car hire.

Will probably cost the same as hiring a car independently.

I Would nearly Go as far as £1k for even a basic car.   Believe me it is a very very expensive way to do this

It’s interesting to see how people are easily swayed by a cheap flight.

Flights are almost always the cheapest part of a holiday. Disney tickets and accommodation is what you want the deals on.

I'd say the flight is the most expensive part but depends. Park tickets 2k and hotel 2k and flights are £3k for our trip next year for 2A + 2C.
