Haven't often seen this for under £25. Works effectively, but can leave quite a hole in the lawn to refill.

I saw a comment on here before from somebody that said they keep some grass in pots in greenhouse so when they remove a plug they've got fresh ones ready to go in.

If you have the patience and an eye dropper containing glycophosphate - the weed will die and wither away - no hole to fill.

    Click and collect only.

Really effective once you’ve located the centre of the weed so the root gets pulled out. But don’t try when the ground is too dry or the force you need to pull a weed out may break some plastic around the claws. Happened to me but Homebase replaced with no fuss.

    Students weed?

You hear those words often, but I don't think it's gardening related. :/

    Usually in stairwells.

Don't waste your time with old tools like this, get yourself a flamethrower and be done with it
    Wooj's avatar
Flamethrowers only kill the surface weed, cluster bombs or tactical nukes are needed for the roots

And why would the average student need a weed puller? Won't help them make a roll up!

No stores near me sadly, anybody know where else I can get this for a similar price?

    Very good weed remover, recommend.

Not available for delivery and Robert Dyas doesn't exist anywhere apart from the south of England (for click and collect).

I thought these Fiskars weed pullers originally (some time ago) came with four claws, now it's only three. Can anyone confirm? (edited)

Just looked at mine that I got about 10 years ago and it has 4 claws on it.

just looked at one on the link and looks like that also has 4 - one claw is shielding the one on the other side, but this photo shows it better here. (edited)

I have this and its great for getting deep weeks out. As other said it does leave a hole but I just fill that it as its better having weed pulled out by the root for total removal rather then regrowing a few weeks later. Think they are well worth the money if you can get one.

Excellent bit of kit. I usually have some soil in the shed to pack the holes the holes after removing weed. Little bit of water and 99% of the time it’s fine.

These work great, leave a divot but given it’s replacing a life sucking weed, it’s excellent.

Hi, is this any good with pulling bramble roots?
    stockdam's avatar
I don't know as I don't have the tool but bramble roots generally need to be dug out. Get a garden fork and loosen the soil around the root; keep going until the root comes out easily and don't snap it otherwise the plant will regrow.

The other difficult plant to remove is bamboo. You have to dig out the complete underground runner (I use a crowbar for this).

Superb gardening device 👌 👏 Picked this up a couple of weeks ago at this bargain price.

Made mincemeat of the weeds that appear to be weed killer proof!

Thanks for posting and heated up

Was out for the day and intended dropping by a Robert Dyas to pick one of these up but by the time we got there they had closed

Annoying as there are no stores nearer to us so it's a 25 mile journey to the nearest one

The find a store section in the site is useless. Still don’t know if they have a store in Scotland. Gave up
  22. rawshark99's avatar
These don't work in my experience, the top of the weed comes up but the root remains

Product looks promising - ordered one
