Acer use a considerable amount of cheaper components compared to other manufacturers and not just in their laptops. Also spare parts are a nightmare to get hold off.

Is the CPU in this worth the £150 or so extra over the Nitro at Very?

    which one are comparing to?

presuming you are talking about the Ryzen 7 7735HS, its interesting. I would personally say yes the 13700HX is worth the £150 more as you get significantly more power in terms of performance and core count. However, it is a chip that will be on hotter end of the spectrum in terms of operating temps and correlating with that is poor battery life (if battery life is key for you on the go)

Ryzen CPUs offer great modern performance in an efficient way, and also cheaper compared to intel. So both have their pros and cons (edited)

this is pretty good! the only personal gripe I have from what I can see in the specs is the 300nits max brightness of display.

My old acer laptop had 250nits which was awful then my Lenovo Legion 5 has 350nits which was noticeable bump and looked good. Then saw my friends Lenovo Legion 7 Pro with 500nits and it was poppin!

regardless Im sure its more than fine especially with all them specs and 3year warranty, I give this a heat

Gaming laptops seem like a minefield at the moment. Confusing specs, underwhelming GPUs.. Poor quality screens..

So is this a new laptop that hasn't been released yet or is it just out of stock? When can I expect it to be delivered if its a pre-order?

Just hope nothing goes wrong with it in the first year. Warranty process is abysmally bad. Ended up getting a refund after 3 months of faffing around
