I have three hotels booked over the next 12 months with free cancellation a head of arrival, all three are at £20 cheaper than the price today :/

Just checked a hotel i booked yesterday as follows:-

    Price yesterday - £59
Price today no cashback site - £79
Price today through cashback site - £85

Make sure you double check prices with and without going through cashback sites and also on the mobile site/app with booking.com. The prices usually increase by the amount of the cashback with them when you go through the cashback site.

I fully agree - I have seen all the scenarios you mentioned above and have seen prices change dynamically through the way I have visited the site

Just FYI: as someone who uses booking.com to let out properties/experiences etc, they take such a healthy slice of our income that we are forced to jack up prices and make the customer pay more. Much more.

Any organic leads ALWAYS get preferetial treatment, free upgrades and by and large the benefit of the doubt should things go south.

    Good luck with your cashback.

I always check prices on the booking platforms and booking direct, and quite often booking direct is more expensive.
I'm very savvy, I'll book with whoever gives me the best rate. Any cashbsck on offer is a bonus. (edited)

No surprise to see Booking.com ripping people off at the expense of TopCashback. Still waiting on £1500 they stole from me from a cancelled stay during 2020 pandemic. The worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with - and that's saying something. (edited)

If are aware of this scandal, shame on them for promoting this company.
If they genuinely aren't aware, they need to take action.
If not, they shouldn't claim to be member focused.

i found a place, but they only take card to reserve the booking.. then pay at property.. will this mean TCB wont work? confusing
    Mooney70's avatar
It should still work as you have made a booking. Although you might not get the bonus/cashback till after you've paid for the booking which could be months away? I've reserved two rooms for April next year and can pay for them upon arrival if i want. The cashback did track but i won't expect to get it until after I've stayed in April. I booked the two rooms back in early June. (edited)

Typical I just booked somewhere yesterday

If you have free cancellation, re-book with TCB

Still waiting for my regular cashback to be paid out by Booking ... It's been a year now. I've provided everything many times over, no idea how or why it should take so long? Not holding out much hope to get it.
    Mooney70's avatar
That's a crazy length of time to still be waiting! I take it it's still at the pending or confirmed stage on TCB?

    For the hotel I'm looking at on booking.com, it's £117 and on hotels.com, it's £81 (edited)
    herrbz's avatar
That's how they get you. Booking.com are scum.
  9. Bargain_girl's avatar
Agree with booking.com increasing the prices when you click via TBC. My hotel increased from £235 to £251
Partially got around this by the hubby and I booking 2 nights each of our 4 night stay. 🤞 we both get £20 TCB
    scrounger's avatar
Just remember that you'll have to check out and then check back in as they may allocate you a new room...I'm speaking from experience 🏽

Update: it is working for me now
  16. alegar13's avatar
Can it be used with a booking done via booking app?
    hoteduardodeals's avatar
    Yes
  17. HUKDUs3r's avatar
Does it work if you book now pay later?

Does anyone know if you pay now on refundable bookings and cancel is it easy to get a refund? (edited)
    aaad1's avatar
If it says refundable, they normally process it within 5-10 days. I got my full refund before when I had to change hotel location. Just make sure it actually says free cancellation.

    Question:
    I booked a hotel for 52£ . It includes 20% VAT.

Will the promo apply ? In other words , will booking.com report 40£ or 52£ to topcashback?
    baldybob's avatar
Normally reported back at the pre-VAT/tax price.
Guessing it'll report back at £43.33. (edited)

What booking you lots are getting?
  20. TheMissBlue's avatar
Will it track on the booking.com app?
    Mooney70's avatar
If you click through from TCB your booking dot com app will open with the TCB referral shown.

Yes, it will just redirect you to your app. (edited)

    Thanks.
I just used this to book a room on Thursday night in case my flight home from Zurich gets nobbled by the NATS issues.
Free cancellation until 6pm on the day of my flight. Good to know I won't be sleeping in the airport terminal whatever happens.
    scrounger's avatar
You say that, but Zurich airport has pretty comfy sofas (close to the check in desks) for an overnight snooze.. if you want to save a bit of cash 🏽

    Nice one!

Great! I was searching for a hotel room and came across one originally priced at £110, now discounted to £55 in a limited-time deal. The price has further dropped to £35 thanks to TCB. HUKD really comes through in saving me money, sometimes. SOMETIMES (edited)
  24. HUKDUs3r's avatar
Same experience with booking.com charging more if you go through TCB.
  25. shirlsky's avatar
Surprisingly I got the same rate as with the mobile app. When I clicked through the link it did not go the app but the mobile website. I also got breakfast at half the usual price. I just hope the transaction tracks. My booking is for this Sunday so that may be why I am not getting much change in the price? Who knows.

Are you supposed to see you both the standard cashback amount and £20 as well. Regarding the £20 when exactly is it meant to track or appear
    shirlsky's avatar
Should be 2 transactions. 4% cashback for the purchase with Booking.com and one for £20.0p bonus.
