To me, this is not a big deal. The world will not end if I have to show a card with my photo on it.

Although I know people who will be having meltdowns at the airport when ask to present some ID.

Ditto. As long as BA state their new requirements on correspondence, no biggie- photo ID can only be a good thing..

Distinctly awkward but I guess it is to keep tabs on crimos who do a runner from one city to another. Look forward to reading comments from civil liberties champions.

Yes. I can see why having a photograph on some document will entirely shut down the movement of those who are wanted.

Last time I flew from Manchester to Newquay in 2017 I had to show photo Id. I don't fly domestically regularly so assumed it was normal

Think I needed ID as well,
going to Scotland from Southampton or Bournemouth.
Was FlyBe or Ryanair forgot now

Good story about Bill Bryson being caught for photo ID when checking in for an internal flight.
He eventually managed to get them to accept one of his own books with his photo on the sleeve.

It is totally unacceptable, I am done with BA, from now on I will only fly Ryanair

Seems completely pointless, like asking for ID for boarding a train.

Travelled to India last month and had to show ticket /boarding pass and ID proof to security before entering the airport. And if checking in luggage then at the check in counter too. So not surprised if this is about to happen here too. (edited)
