AEG is actually Electrolux and this is a quote from UKWhitegoods.co.uk
'As of around about 2008 most of the AEG appliances we'd seen were simply rebadged Electrolux products sold under other brand names such as Zanussi or Tricity Bendix with cosmetic differences mainly, but a few software and feature changes in an attempt to make them seem different. in effect little more than yet another own label brand for Electrolux.'
'To our knowledge there are no AEG machines now built in Germany at all. Most laundry appears to be Italian for example, coming from the same production facilities as other Electrolux Group products.'

Once again you highlight that you don't have a clue. Our AEG oven and hob are both clearly marked "Made in Germany", from their Rothenburg plant. (edited)

Looks good. I was looking for integrated but I’m tempted by this. Any thoughts on integrated versus freestanding? We’re getting a new kitchen fitted so I’m looking at new appliances. Thanks

easier to buy freestanding machines than integrated, and the freestanding machines have "better" features.

All these AEGs are made in Poland, not China so the quality is much better, too.

Some appliances are made in Italy or Germany too!

Thanks for this! I missed the August deals and would have preferred the 7000 series over this basic series but this is a great deal coming at a good time as my 7 year old Bosch no longer works properly and not worth trying to fix. Only concern is the 2 year warranty compared to 5 being offered by Bosch at the moment. Time will tell! (edited)

Great reliable brand. Have an AEG washer and AEG dryer both going fine after 10 years. Admittedly paid £900 and £500 respectively but well worth it.

Our AEG washer/dryer has been going for approx 10 years and only this summer have I had to change the 3 way solenoid after it started showing the e10 error on drying cycles. Fingers crossed it lasts another 10 years!

But yes, rebadged Electrolux. I see it the same way as VAG cars. (edited)

Should be a minimum 5 year warranty, just 2 years is a joke.

Doing a bit of checking proper AEG quality washing machines with 5 year warranties are £800 plus. (edited)

Yep that's the nature of the market, much different nowadays with website and sorting lowest to high.
This is pretty much across the market with all the main OEM's.

You pay product premium price to get a inclusive extended warranty so your 800+ models are 500-550 price with the bolted on cost of the warranty.

I could go into some under handing that goes on but not the place for it here.

I think calling other brands "chinese junk" is unfair to be honest. If this 'not-junk' is so good, it should offer 5 years warranty! (edited)
    maddoglewis's avatar
Probably better to buy a high quality Chinese brand like Haier than this Polish junk.
