The new Xiaomi 70mai 1S Smart Dash Cam is a spectacular DVR, with a recording capacity superior to previous models that helps you on your journeys, making them much easier to use. Meanwhile, it's H.264 photography compression technology and 1080P full HD lens, added 130 degrees vision angle and adjustable holder, giving you a satisfied recording experience.

130° Wide Angle View
The WiFi dash cam features a 130° ultra wide-angle to reduce blind spots and obtain full visible lane coverage.

1080p HD Video Record
The Smart Dash Cam provides super clear view of the whole road. HDR technique solves the contrast of light source, improves the quality and clarity on the screen thanks to Auto Fill Light function. Even in darkness 70mai 1080p Dash Cam can provide close range excellent views as clear as in the daylight.

Emergency Video Recording
With G-Sensor, the HD dash cam automatically records emergency situation and save the videos for you. When the G-Sensor detects a collision, the 1080p camera will automatically start recording and saves the videos separately to prevent the video from overwriting.

Voice Controlled Dash Cam
Command and record without using your hands, drive with safety! With sensitive voice identification detector 70mai dash cam can recognize human voice and make a quick response. You only need to give it an instruction and the camera will execute. Take a picture, record a video, record video with or without sound, turn WiFi on/off.

App Control & Built-in WiFi
Enjoy taking photos, viewing real-time footage, playback anytime and more. With a built-in wireless module you can easily open the app and connect the dash camera to take photos, view real-time footage or playback recordings, wherever you are.

Loop Recording Video
Smart Dash Camera will automatically overwrite the oldest footage with latest ones so that the memory card can work normally. The camera supports microSD cards from 8GB to 64GB.

Ring-Shaped Light
The light design aims to show the working status of the camera. Blue — starting the device. Green – working in normal mode. Red – working in accident/event mode.

Camera from my memory is 70mai 1s where that one from Amazon is 70mai M300.
Quick look on 70mai website and it's description of M300 says
"The Xiaomi 70mai M300 dashcam is the improved successor to the sales topper Xiaomi 70Mai 1S Dashcam, with a 1.5 times greater image resolution as the main difference"

But the real difference is due to the use of other optical sensors. 70Mai 1S uses a SONY sensor - IMX307, while 70Mai M300 uses, in my opinion, a much worse SMARTSENS SC3335 sensor. (edited)

Just checked on 70mai's website. They only have one version. If you scroll through the picture on the mymemory site you can see it's wired up as well.

Any idea which Garmin model this is?

I have had 2 of these for several years and they are fantastic.!
Does anyone have a suggestion on a front and rear camera with similar quality?

Blackvue, but they dont come cheap..

This may be a stupid question, but do people take these in and out of the glove compartment each time? Is that a faff? Never had one before but I'm guessing it's like sat navs years ago where we hid them in case of thieves prowling?
    phoenix802's avatar
I think the idea is that they are there to deter the would be theif so you would ideally keep them up. Also can be used to record anyone that bumps your car while parked

Car manufacturers. Why do not offer this part of their standard equipment?
    Jimoiseau's avatar
My car has 4 cameras all around which I can use while reversing or parking, and an SD card slot that holds the maps for the in-built sat nav I never use. Can't be impossible for them to write some software to just have the cameras record onto the SD card instead, but they've never bothered.

Does it send data back to china?

    Why wouldn't you want to

If you look for 70mai rather than Xiaomi then you can get this for a lot less. (OnBuy has it at over £10 less).

70mai is a "partner" to Xiaomi - and (as per picture) the offer seems to be a 70mai badged product being sold through Xiaomi.

Assuming you mean the £25.99 Onbuy item:
that is not a 70mai nor Xiaomi product, it is a similar-looking item where the China-based seller has used the listing title to describe what you should expect not to receive if you should want to risk a purchase.
Or if comfortable to wait 2-3 weeks: £18.80 inc VAT & dlvy from Ali.

i remember watching a video on how there is only one or two manufacturer of dash cam. hence why even most expensive dash cam looks bad since they all mostly all the same camera

I'm going to post this on every 70mai deal I see

GET A SUCTION CUP HOLDER OFF EBAY!!!

The fixture that comes with it is great... but only for one use only. Removing it is a nightmare and won't work again.

Do you have a recommendation? Just bought the dash cam for the Mrs.

Has a habit of spontaneous recording and giving warning messages"do not perform this manoeuvre," have no idea why, doesn't seem to like roundabouts? and not to keen on the motorway. Instruction manual not helpful, need more info

Can anyone who has this camera confirm if this is the case?

The last thing I need is yet another person pointing out my bad driving.
  13. stu83's avatar
I see it appears to have parking mode, but one review states it takes approximately 14 seconds to start recording, in which time the 3rd party has probably legged it. Anyone have this dash cam and can confirm how quick it records after detecting a bump when parked? Cheers

Using the link, appears dead - anyone else seeing the same (no products found)

Edit - looks like it's due to me being abroad, vpning to my house and out and it's showing. (edited)

I purchased this of Amazon for £34.99 the other day. Should I keep it or return and go for this? Any advice welcome.

Does this one show the speed you are travelling? And if not is that important or not?
    bob-mk2's avatar
No: only ones with 'GPS' will have that ability.

and I am not a fan of having your speed embedded in the video footage: if someone pulls out in front of you and causes a crash, having your footage showing that you were doing 31mph in a 30mph zone gives their lawyers something to easily latch on to avoid liability.

Can you buy a rear window camera for this too ?
    smephone's avatar
Not one that connects to this. I personally just use 2 separate normal dashcams, one front, one rear.
