    Don't bother as the Homebase and Argos Outback bbqs are inferior to the proper Outback bbqs. Outback use cheaper parts on the bbqs for these suppliers. I had an original Outback Excel granite for over 10 years until it gave up the ghost. Bought a spectrum 3 from homebase immediately I had concerns and parts have failed after 3 years.

    This is an awesome BBQ. I have the older one with the wooden sides and the wood just goes moldy and needs treating.

    These metal sides look like a real upgrade.

    Cooks really well. Mine had ceramic grills, so none of that wire brush nonsense. Simply spray with BBQ cleaner, let it soak, then wipe of.

    Never bother.....just fire it up on full burn for 10-15mins(lid closed) but be careful, as any accrued fat will ignite and flame up........keep away from house hedges etc. Boy, cleans it like brand new though......... (edited)

    Anyone have an idea on how long these are supposed to last outdoors with a cover on?
    Mine rusted after 2 years, that the norm?

    Get a Weber, my spirit 310 has been outside, most years not covered after the first cover rotted away.

    On its 13year, the flavour bars are rusty but not burnt through yet, rest is fine even the base.

    I have the outback 3 burner spectrum (older model with the wooden sides). I highly recommend it. Bought it 5 years ago and it has held up well. I did have to replace the flame tamers and the drip tray this year, but that was only about £25 total. It regularly comes on at this price, so I wouldn't pay more, but it's a good deal relative to what you can pay for a good BBQ

    Outback Excel all gone. The Spectrum has a few dotted around but good luck if you're outside of London.

    Knowing Homebase, could be OOS nationwide and not updated stock levels.

    i have the Outback 4 burner Meteor – Stainless Steel.....2 years from new. £600 worth of disappointment can fust about cook anything and have stripped burners, venturi everything...........used 4 times as rubbish. So wanted to like (picked up for £300 ex. homebase, still boxed, end of season sale). Never again. Never, ever, ever.......Hope this one wroks better for you all..........
