I can't imagine anyone being able to afford one of these and not owning a freezer. What a waste of money. (edited)

I have to disagree. If you have no ice maker built into your freezer, it’s either ice cube bags or filling (or spilling!) ice trays. I have an ice machine. I turn it on, make a load with no effort at all, put them in a huge zip lock bag in the freezer and use when needed. When it starts running low, repeat. No hassle and plenty of ice to use.

That said, mine is the one from Aldi and was around £80. Still, if it broke I’d definitely buy another even if it cost more.

Don't it's just another fad item, I used bought one, used it a few times and ended up getting rid.

Cheers OP purchased one before but was the bullet type and was a pain as you had to manually clean it, Took a shot on this as the self cleaning thing got me
Saves paying £2 a bag of ice a week now

More junk that ends up in landfill. If it lasts a year then based on a bag of ice per week this equates to £2.6 a week not including the electricity it uses.

It’s for those who are actually looking for one. Rest all are keeping it cool to avoid melting cube in it

I have a similar one bought for 209.99 from Amazon last year. It’s really great. It makes real ice cubes unlike other cheaper ones which make hollow ones.

Are these expensive to run? How long does it take to make an ice cube

I just found them a pain as they do not make it easy to clean... And you have to clean them A LOT!

Isn't it just water going in?
