Genuine question - how can PC gaming be the best when the monitors aren't even 4K?

Depends what you mean by ‘the best’. I wouldn’t bother arguing that either is objectively better, it’s completely down to which YOU prefer and why.

(Btw, you absolutely can PC game at 4k and many do, but as noted above you need a very high-end GPU for some of the very latest games to run 4k at 60fps, which most PC gamers aim for as a minimum frame rate - graphically heavier titles are often locked to 30fps on console, like Starfield.)

Personally I choose PC gaming over console gaming for lots of reasons, including:

    - keyboard and mouse OR controller support in most cases
    - typically higher frame rates (I tend to value smoother visuals more than getting the highest resolution - my monitor is 1440p 165hz and it’s more than sharp enough at 27” on my desk)
    - wider mod support
    - often a wider range (and/or better overall integration) of customisable in-game settings and features
    - I prefer to be at a desk rather than on a sofa (I know you can technically do either with a console, but generally PCs are better suited to my preferred setup)
    - a truly vast catalogue of games always available, from 30-year-old classics to indie titles to the latest triple A releases (rarely affected by issues around console exclusivity wars!), all playable on one machine
    - access to a huge number of great games, even relatively newish ones, constantly on offer somewhere for a fiver or so
    - ability to pick my own hardware components according to my budget and what sorts of games I want to be able to run when
    - generally enjoying being able to tinker with my setup more (and as an added bonus, being able to use it for stuff other than JUST playing games!)

…but if none of the above matters to you much, then it’s probably not better and there’d be little point in switching from console!

I ordered this and the aoc q27 found the aoc slightly better in picture quality defo more brighter and more saturated. The LG did seem abit low on the brightness if I'm being honest on a side by side comparison (edited)

Best display I ever bought. Got it infront of bed. 1000% recommend.

I mean I have it and I also ordered the aoc one similarly priced and the aoc pic was better in terms of saturation/brightness and the stand can do more. The LG one isn't bad tbh but I'm returning it and keeping the aoc

One review on Amazon saying it's not that bright 🌞 but tbh I mean who's got ips brightness on max anyway I normally sit around 25-35 brightness 🔅
    irabbs7's avatar
I have it and I think the reviewer is right it's defo noticeable darker and less saturated then the AOC I ordered

I've got the 32 VA version, it is lovely. Looks like this has tilt and heights adjust, too, which is a bonus. Price is hot!

I have the LG, wasn't impressed i think the dell is better from other reviews on hukd.

£10 cheaper than the last time it was posted, very nice.
    Excellent monitor for that price.
Having a height adjustable stand is also a bonus for such a cheap monitor.

    Great 1st deal . (edited)

Anybody knows a decent 4k 27/32inch (preferably) monitor??

This has a massive stand btw. Take this into consideration whoever is interested
    irabbs7's avatar
And it doesn't swivel either but it was rotate into portrait mode. However your right the screen is further forward compared to my other few monitors which is annoying.

Looking for an upgrade for my Samsung Odyssey LS32AG550EUXXU (Odyssey G5, curved, VA, otherwise similar looking specs) for gaming (mainly Overwatch). I'm finding the blacks get crushed too much.

    Would this be better?
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Yep, this will not have the motion blur/bllack smearing you get with the cheaper VA panels.
Contrast ratio is lower than VA panels, but that's normal and isn't as big an issue as the Black smearing
    .
For fast paced games it's always better to go IPS (or spend a lot more on the higher end Samsung VA panels). (edited)
