Wait a while, the canopy will go yellow, rainwater will seep into the hollow perspex and black mould will grow inside. After 2-3 years you'll be taking it down and binning it.

or do what i did, and seal the perspex with silicone when i put it up.

It's a shame these companies are so sparing with the truth, the brackets are actually not metal they are plastic, only the bars top & bottom retaining the Polycarbonate sheet are metal & as mentioned this will go yellow & brittle.

We had the double version over our door & kitchen window and it stopped very little rain, still got soaked finding the key & unlocking the door. The only thing it actually protected us from was the moss being dropped by nesting birds. As our walls are rendered we also had to add a strip of silicone rubber between this and the wall or we found water simply collected & ran down thee wall from the back edge (edited)

You'll also need flashing where it meets the wall

Purchased mine in Nov 2020, very easy to install, put a silicone bead where it meets the wall, and all round the edges.

Still as good as the day i installed it, no maintenance required apart an occasional wipe on the top.

Stops the rain hitting the door, much less noise now, and holds up well to some heavy snow. I would buy again if it ever fails.

Reading some previous comments - key is to run a silicone bead on all edges where it meets the wall, then no water will leak down behind.
