Each Alpina AlpinerX Smart Outdoors
watch in our store is delivered in the original Alpina box and comes with a full, official warranty.

The large size ( 45 mm ) will make the Alpina AL-283LBO5AQ6B model stand out on most wrists. Lug-to-lug, or the length of the case from "lug to lug", for the Alpina AL-283LBO5AQ6B model is 60 mm. This model is characterized by a thick case ( 14.45 mm ).

The Alpina AlpinerX Smart Outdoors model is waterproof to 100 m or 10 atmospheres. The 10 ATM water resistance class allows you to freely splash water on the watch, take a shower, swim on the water surface and go snorkeling. However, you should not use your watch for scuba diving at greater depths.

The case of the Alpina AlpinerX Smart Outdoors
watch is made of plastic and has a round shape . The case made of plastic ensures safe use of the watch, and its main advantage is the very low weight of the watch.

  • Stainless steel - made of high-quality anti-allergic 316L stainless steel alloy ensures the safety of your body, and the 316L alloy is characterized by high corrosion resistance.

The Alpina AL-283LBO5AQ6B watch has a very accurate quartz mechanism powered by a durable battery. In the quartz movement, electronically controlled vibrations are transmitted through a specially manufactured synthetic quartz crystal. The accuracy of vibrations guarantees the high precision of quartz mechanisms. The energy powering the mechanism is drawn from the battery.

The dial is dark and has a display protected by extremely hard, top-class scratch-resistant sapphire glass. Glass made of high-quality aluminum oxide, scratch-resistant; seven times harder than steel (hardness: 2200 - 2300 on the Vickers scale), very difficult to scratch.

  • The hours on the dial are marked with Arabic numerals, indexes, display.
  • Additional readable multifunctional display.
  • Type of glass used - sapphire.

The original Alpina AL-283LBO5AQ6B universal men's watch is factory delivered on a steel bracelet. Made of high-quality anti-allergic 316L stainless steel alloy, the bracelet ensures trouble-free and safe use of the watch for a very long time. The bracelet can be adjusted to the circumference of your wrist before shipping. Alloy 316L is characterized by high corrosion resistance.

The Alpina AlpinerX Smart Outdoors model offers features such as: Alarm - after setting the alarm function for the desired time, an audible alarm will sound at that time, which can be turned off by using the appropriate button.

Barometer - a watch with an integrated barometer allows you to observe the current atmospheric pressure value on the display. Very often, watches with a barometer also have a function that allows weather forecasts for the next few hours and an altimeter.

Secure Butterfly or Folding Clasp - The Butterfly / Folding Clasp secures your watch strap or bracelet from theft or accidental dropping of your watch.

Bluetooth - support for the Bluetooth v4.0 protocol allows connection and synchronization with a smartphone. Thanks to this, the watch informs about new messages, synchronizes the time and date, and allows you to easily find your phone by pressing a button on the watch.

Chronograph (stopwatch) - a watch with a chronograph function is a watch with a stopwatch. Depending on the complexity of the mechanism, on the dial (in addition to the proper time hands) there are scales and hands measuring the stopwatch readings (hours, minutes, seconds, decimal seconds).

Date stamp - the date stamp shows the user the current date electronically or analogously. If your watch has a perpetual date display, you never need to correct its date settings.

Fluorescent indexes on the dial - covered with a substance such as SuperLuminova or other indexes make it easier to read the time in conditions of poor lighting or lack thereof after exposing the watch to sunlight.

Fluorescent hands - covered with a substance such as SuperLuminova or other hands make it easier to read the watch in poor or no lighting conditions after exposing the watch to sunlight.

GMT (second time zone) - the first watches with the GMT function were designed with pilots in mind to read both the local time zone and the universal time according to time zone 0 (GMT), in German watches it is also often referred to as UTC.

Usually, with the help of an additional hand or display, it is possible to determine and read the current time from a different time zone, the second time can be indicated in 24 or 12-hour format - depending on the mechanism used.

Nowadays, this function can be especially useful when traveling between different time zones, when we want to know both the local time and the "home" one.

Compass - the compass function shows the user the current direction of the watch in the cardinal system.

Pedometer - the watch has a built-in pedometer. Thanks to this sensor, you will be able to check your current daily activity at any time.

Rotating bezel of the watch - the rotating bezel allows divers to measure the duration of the dive, as well as to measure the duration of any activity.

Hybrid smartwatch - a hybrid smartwatch allows integration with a phone and activity measurement, but does not have a display.

Thermometer - the thermometer function allows you to read the approximate ambient air temperature.

Timer - the timer is the opposite function to the stopwatch (chronograph) and allows you to count the set time backwards. After counting down the set time, the timer can start an audible or other type of alarm (depending on the watch model).

Multifunctional display - depending on the model, the multifunctional display of the watch allows you to provide the user with information about the current date, day of the week, sometimes also about temperature, atmospheric pressure or height above sea level.

Month indicator - the month marker displays the current month on the watch face in an abbreviated format, usually in the form of an abbreviation of the name of the month in English.

Altimeter - the altimeter shows the user the current height above sea level, usually calculated based on changes in atmospheric pressure.

AlpinerX is the next revolutionary generation of Alpina's Hybrid Smartwatch. The watch is compatible with Android and iOS phones.

This version has been equipped with additional sensors - UV sensor, motion sensor, magnetometer, pressure sensor.

The watch in combination with a smartphone has been equipped with such functions as:

  • sleep monitor,
  • activity monitor,
  • extensive alarm system (alarm clock, activity reminder),
  • call and message notifications,
  • UV indicator,
  • altimeter and barometer,
  • compass,
  • temperature,
  • automatic time and date synchronization with the phone,
  • automatic backup of activity data to the cloud.

Smart watches are a bit unknown territory for me so I was unsure whether this being a few years old made it obsolete or unusable! I saw the Kickstarter logo in the first Youtube video (from Jameel), will try to see if I can find any info about that.

Edit: Here it is: AlpinerX - The Most Beautiful Outdoors Smartwatch by Alpina Watches — Kickstarter (last update November 2018). It has this chart (though, of course, it's a few years old now):50951353-mGeyc.jpgAlpina Blog webpage: ALPINA LAUNCHES THE OUTDOORS SMARTWATCH ALPINERX DESIGNED IN FOUR DIFF – Alpina Watches

TechRadar actually have a review, will add it above.

This was last on HUKD at £435 from Ernest Jones in December 2020 (different colourway): hotukdeals.com/dea…806

Not much info or feedback on that thread, though.

This is, as others have mentioned, a fairly old watch. It does have some "smart sports" functionality but nothing like HRM etc. It's basically a well made adventure watch, personally I find the appeal somewhat limited.

Can anyone recommend a watch with 1 week+ battery , that tracks sleep(HR) and has an ok app that can configure phone notifications alerts?

the Casio H5600 is one I’m looking at . This looks tempting too (edited)

I have a Withings Scanwatch which cost about £180. Has a battery life of almost a month. Does steps, distance ,  heart rate, sleep, ECG, etc.

    Is free return?

had one return to Amazon US in the past. you have to pay the postage first but it will be refunded (usually slightly more than how much you have paid) when the return is received by Amazon US.

I just received mine today as well, fantastic looking watch. I also paid for fast delivery it took 3 days to arrive, which is amazing. Price went up for the orange bezel one in the picture of the post, but black one with orange dials still goes for the same.

I downloaded the Alpina app, it was super easy to connect. I didn't play with all the options yet but so far stunning watch for the price. (edited)

You wont find many swiss made smartwatches for this price and alpina are a reputable brand. I have it in blue and orange caoutchouc rubber with a beauty of a clasp. The build quality is awesome. My first smartwatch was the tissot touch which even today is a brilliant watch. The battery last 2yrs plus with not everything active. (edited)

Amazon US' prices fluctuate over the days (assume currency rates influence this) by a £ or so, bear this in mind before hitting expire. I'll expire it myself if the price inflates hugely, though

It's coming from the US - though - it said In Stock when I posted it. Typical shipping time is around 10 days, usually handed over to a courier in the UK (at least, whenever I've ordered to a UK city, that's happened).

Edit: The AL-283LBB5AQ6B is still In Stock - price has went up slightly to £229.93 + £10.82 postage = £240.75 today.50975449-ZhO4F.jpg (edited)

I'd need to do a new post. The price changes so often it's not really worth it, I suspect dynamic pricing would kick in if it got more attention (though, with Amazon, you're never quite sure).
