I am looking to buy a used car, this will be my first car in the country. I am scared of Facebook ads and also don’t like buying from dealers. What are good and trusted online places to look for used cars? Any inputs will be hugely appreciated.

sorted byOne thing to watch out for are cars priced much lower than equivalents. From my experience the tend to be Cat S or Cat N, they are insurance write-off's which have been repaired. Normally they are repaired well, however, insurance premiums are likely to be higher.
A dealer will offer a warranty and by law is responsible for faults (other than wear and tear) in the first 6 months.
A deal from home trader is the middle ground. Legally, they're the same as a dealership, but traditionally, they consider themselves a private seller, sold as seen.
This explains a lot of the price differential.
Manufacturer approved used vehicles are typically more expensive due to the increased checks (in theory, higher quality of vehicle), but more importantly, the higher costs of running a dealership. Basically, the more you pay, the less risk you undertake.
Any purchase, consider taking along a mechanic friend or paying for an AA/RAC check.
Check the cost of insurance, as this will likely influence your choice of car.
