Ayurvedic - effective?

I've heard of a few remedies, and food types under this name of ayurvedic, is it something which others have had good experience with?

Ayurvedic is quite popular in the subcontinent likes of India. Brands like Dabur, Pantanjali do massive business. I would be bit reluctant to use these for anything other than mild health issues like upset stomach or indigestion.

Ayurveda has more of a holistic focus rather than the reactive one practised in the West. It covers diet, exercise and not just treatment. A billion people follow it and another billion in China who have something similar. I wouldn't dismiss it without any basis - just because it is unfamiliar doesn't make it a scam.

That being said, Ayurveda is not for cancer or similar serious stuff. (edited)

No, it's just another "natural health" scam.
