Sod it, booked for half term. Six hour drive but I'm sure it'll be fine 😬

Have done similar. Learned not to rush too much day 1. Was trying to maximise value but on second visit of similar experience learned to 'get there when we get there' - safely. Chill (big queue to get out if waiting until closing time) and just cruise from the park to the hotel, relax and unwind and hit it on day 2.

Not sure if you're the main/only driver but still take it easy on day 2 as the rest of them have the chance to nap on the way back

The worst theme park I've ever had the misfortune to visit, DO NOT do it to yourselves...

Have to agree with the sentiment that buying queue jumping passes is required. As much as I hated doing so, it was the only way to turn our visit last month into a good experience.

We were there for two days, day 1 without the queue jumping and day 2 with them. So I have good recent experience of both sides of the coin. Without queue jumping passes, it's a near guaranteed 1* experience.

So my only advice to anyone going is to consider the cost of buying queue jumping passes as a necessary tax, and if that makes it too expensive just avoid altogether. (And the queue jumping passes are stupidly expensive for a family.... ☹️)

    Was about to mention…
Description says 55+ rides, in my head 55+ mins waiting for a 2-3 mins ride

Shame that half term weekends don’t line up with this deal.

    That is deliberate

    Just a bit off-topic.
Is Legoland any good for adults?
Was going to go there with the mrs, but saw same day tickets are £66/person.

    Is it primarily children’s attraction?

MINI Legoland, Lego Star Wars, 4D cinema and sky ride will be good fun. There will only be a few rides that you can go on as they are mostly aimed for young children but it's worth going just to see the MINI Legoland and Star Wars exhibits. Don't forget, Lego is for all ages these days, not just for children although the rides are aimed at a much younger audience. Check it out on YouTube before making the decision, will give you an idea. (edited)

Holiday Inn Reading South is a not bad hotel, have stayed before and happy to return - but coupled with Legoland? Crazy given the distance.
