Home WiFi - Router

Looking for some advice on which router to get…
My Xiaomi ax3600 which has been solid is playing up for some reason..
I get 600 download and upload, would like probably a mesh 6e system.

any recommendations please?

Sorry I know this is an unhelpful response, but can I ask why you need your own router? I game on the standard virgin router and it works fine.

Mrs says the same! But it’s because on my xiaomi router I could get much better range with much faster speeds. The Linksys velop system I was given from the provider has virtually half the speeds in the same locations round the house.

Agree it’s not the end of the world but I just like ordering stuff

If you're techy I can recommend Asus routers with custom Merlin firmware. Mine is 8 years old and I'll just buy a more current model when it finally dies. With Merlin you can install a bunch of extra software, such as ad blockers etc.

I don't know much about the newer models, though.

Thanks, I have two ac68u’s which I did try with Merlin years ago. I then started having issues with drop outs so went to the xiaomi router.
I was literally just about to pull the trigger on XE75 set but might have another look into Merlin…
