Is this a good washing machine?

Hi,

Would really like to have your input as I have been looking for a washing machine for quite some time.

As I need a full connection/disconnection/removal service, I've been very limited with choice

I've just come across this offer (really wanted to avoid AO due to repeated bad experiences but hey!) for the Bosch series 4 WAN28250GB. It looks like it doesn't really have any of the modern features eg steam, 9kg capacity... that other models I first looked at had but with the current offer and including full service package and delivery it would cost around £515 in total.

Would really appreciate it if you could advise me. I mainly wash cotton at 30/40 and synthetics at 30/40C. On my old Samsung machine I had a daily wash that lasted an hour for everyday clothes at 30C.

I've seen that on a number of newer washing machines you can only run lighter loads on most programmes ie 2-5kg and can use its full capacity on a couple of long programmes. I'd very much like to avoid this.

Any info/advice you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much for reading!

I have got previous model of Bosch series 4 8kg
cotton 40 takes over 3 hours. Speed perfect takes about 1.5 hr
mixed fabric takes about 1 hr, but it only takes 4kg load

It is only cotton and eco mode can take 8kg. Both takes over 3 hours

Try John Lewis if you don't like AO

Thanks so much for this. Are you otherwise happy with yours?

Sadly JL doesn't offer disconnection of the old washing machine. I'm disabled so need it to be done professionally.

Have a look at Euronics website.

As has been said make sure you read up all the information on how long a wash can take. I replaced a Bosch that I had had for nearly 20 years with a series 6, but it is exactly as the 001Cisco says.

I see you had already asked about washing machines! Whereabouts in London are you?

Argos have free recycle and connection on Samsung machines ATM
They come with a 5 year guarantee too.
I got mine from there and the fellas were great and I live in a flat, they didn't moan about brining it up the stairs
Im sure most come with reduced time buttons to avoid long washes
As for weight of loads, i throw loads of stuff in on the quick wash and it's been fine

A washing machine has been ordered... at long last!
Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to advise and help. It's much appreciated, truly.
I ended up going for the machine mentioned as I had Nectar points and a couple of extra gift cards so got it a little cheaper and with free full delivery/install/removal service.
Again, massive thanks. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time looking for something suitable.

My old machine is Samsung ecobubble. When I started looking for a replacement, I checked newer Samsung models and read many reviews re: problems with drum or gasket so that put me off given that Samsung customer service is inexistent - all my devices are Samsung.

Thanks very much for the link. Yours looks beautiful. Love the graphite colour. Are you happy with it so far?

Unfortunately Argos takes weeks to deliver large appliances to my postcode, which is an improvement from years of "home delivery not available" on most products.

AO and crampton and more both have the series 5+ add wash in graphite 8kg model for 469 if they deliver any sooner and 8kg is sufficient?
Ive also had the graphite samsung 9kg add wash for over a year now and its been great, i love how you can literally change the speed and temperature of almost every wash selection and its really quiet (edited)
