petrol pump payment weird situation

Hi

Today I filled petrol pump and paid at the kiosk.
In the evening I was checking my transactions for some reason and saw this payment was declined.
I tried calling the pump (its far) several times to pay by phone but no one picked.
I know non-payment at petrol pump can cause lot of issues. what can I do ?

thanks for advice / suggestion..

Get your essentials ready for a holiday at HMP.

You'll be on CCTV paying and then there being no problem.
If you want some reassurance call the Police that cover the pump or send an online contact in whatever format they use on their website in case you've been reported for a bilking (making off without payment).
The offence which is part of the 1968 theft act requires an element of dishonesty which, based on what you have described, simply isn't there.
If the petrol station does ring it in, a check on Police systems would show that you have called in explaining that you have taken all reasonable steps to contact the garage and offer to pay.

Did the staff member not say anything to you when they saw the transaction hadn’t been properly completed?

I would do nothing and wait to see if the petrol station contact you. If they do, then you can arrange to make payment (in a convenient manner to yourself).
They can get your details from DVLA or the police may contact you on their behalf.
However, as you attempted to pay and they made the mistake, there can be no question of criminal intent, so if they contact you, just send them a cheque.

    to conclude this topic -
I drove 50 min to the petrol pump
    told them what happened
    they had no record whatsoever
knowing that I came to pay they said if I pay it will help the poor cashier who the manager must have fined
I didn't want any hassle , paid the amount and came
come to think of it , they didn't even gave me receipt for second payment
but at least I will have record in my bank statement &
    a clear conscience

The cashier would have spotted that the transaction was declined. It may be a glitch with your bank. Call them tomorrow and ask them.

But yeah, call the petrol station tomorrow as well.
