Can this split as 2 controllers for 2 players like the joy-cons?

It doesn't have motion control, but doesn't say either way about the 2 player thing.

No you can't, they only work in handheld mode unless you buy the attachment to use as an external controller.

Amazon price matching the apricot red

    Long delivery though!

Is a switch worth the money? Being hassled by my wife to get the kids one for Xmas but I'm not convinced... if I should get one, what console should I go for and what are the best games for young kids?

Get a v1 unpatched Switch if you can. (Google it).

I wonder if these are hollow and plastic or if they are sturdy like the original Joy-Con. I've tried several controllers but none have matched the Joy-Con in terms of material quality... Can anyone relate to this?

They do feel light and hollow, but that's only because there's no rumble motors. The plastic itself feels sturdier than the original Joy-Cons. The increased size and curves make them very comfortable for adult hands, the weight isn't an issue since you're holding the Switch regardless. There is an extra nub on the back to brace it against the console, meaning less pressure on the rails.

    This or the pro?
    wez316's avatar
I would definitely say this as for me the pro is huge and uncomfortable but it depends on hand size. The pro are very bulky and inconvenient for carrying with a travel case. If you have large hands and don't value portability then the pro are more comfortable for longer play apparently.

For anyone who paid £29.99 for this a couple of weeks ago don’t waste your time trying to get curry’s to refund the difference just spent 30 minutes on web chat with someone who advised that curry’s price guarantee only applies to orders made within 7 days.

i then advised I could return it and repurchase at the new price, the agent advised to do this.

For £5 it’s just not worth the hassle IMO to return and rebuy

Ordered thanks, been waiting for these to drop in price and it seems they have never been this low.

Sorry i dont know how these work but i would like to buy this for my 10 year old. Do we need to purchase games separately for this?
    Franchesca.Sdoyle's avatar
    this isn't a console.

Can someone dumb this down Iv no idea what it’s for my son has the switch lite I think it’s called it’s the handheld one and have bought daughter a switch for Xmas can we use this ?
    Dog.'s avatar
It's a controller for the console - will not attach to the switch lite.

Does anyone know if these are sold in store? Or is it only delivered to store?
  11. scottydogg81's avatar
Strange question I know but would this fix previous controllers disconnecting for the switch when in handheld mode?
    hotfinder's avatar
Unlikely. Might be an issue with your bluetooth on the controllers or the system itself. Try a software update if you haven’t already
  12. Bazallworks's avatar
Hmmm, how good are these? I don't play a lot of Switch these days since I got my deck
    justjamming's avatar
They make it a lot more comfortable in general. I have some full size split pads and really rate them. I've ordered a set from Amazon and a set from Currys, as my eldest likes them too...

Heat for the price but can't buy this when things like nyxi joy cons exist.
The fact these commit features and used to cost so much is wild

Any one have issues where the controller will start doing weird thing s and you have disconnet and reconnect

I'm waiting on the pro versions to get cheaper
    bennie1's avatar
I just checked the pro version, currently £40 on Amazon. The pro also doesn’t have hd rumble or motion controls. So what’s the point in a ‘pro’ variant of this?
  16. herohonda777's avatar
It’s a good price but it’s not so comfortable on the hands for a long period of time
