Are charity shops good for beds and other home furniture or is there elsewhere?

Hi all
My mate is moving in to his new rented home and doesnt want to spend a huge amount on household stuff.

I've told him charity shops are good enoug as they'll sell stuff thats good enough to be re-used, clean etc

Is there anywhere else that does this kind of stuff on the cheap?

British Heart Foundation have many huge Furniture & Electrical stores in the UK.

Used and new items. They have an eBay shop as well

Ask around on local FB pages. There's bound to be people wanting to get rid of half decent furniture for free.

Freecycle. Although if he hasn't got transport it is going to be tricky.

We got our sofa set (lazy boy) from an animal charity shop. Very happy with it.

Auction houses tend to be pretty cheap. Let me know your approximate location and I'll point you in the right direction

Try going to your local dump/recycling centre.

You ever tried to take anything away from them? Around here it is just not allowed.

Search for furniture or other charity organisations that specialises in furniture in your area. Charity shops tend to have clothes and smaller items, not larger furniture or other brown/white goods.

Download Free Stuff Alerts from playstore. Wide variety of items some in great condition; some not great.
