Would it be okay if I swap my two Samsung S24 Ultra orders

Dear All HUKDers,

Seeking some advice related to a purchase I made.

I pre-ordered the Samsung S24 ultra on 17th Jan for scheduled delivery for 24th Jan. However, since placing this order, I found out that using my partner's company rewards programme, I could get an additional 15% discount. So I placed another order on 22nd Jan for the same phone and specifications which would likely be delivered on 19th Feb, which is a pretty long wait.

I reached out to Samsung (3 times so far by phone and chat support last few days) to cancel my first order as their portal wouldnt allow me to initiate cancellation on my own. It has been 2 days but they still havent cancelled it successfully. I now got an email that DPD would be delivering the phone from my first order tomorrow.

If the phone from the first order arrives tomorrow, would it be okay if I start using it and when the phone from the second order comes along on 19th Feb, return this second phone as thought it came from the first order.

Would it be okay if I do this or Samsung would be able to track which phone belonged to which order and they end up cancelling my 2nd order and refund me the lower amount?

Each order will have an order number and that handsets IMEI number associated to it.

If you switch the phones, these numbers will no longer tie up and you will likely end up causing yourself more problems.

Best to be patient and wait till February - likely your phone will arrive earlier than quoted.

I have a bad feeling about this but hopefully someone got an idea to make this work.

The IMEI number and serial number will be recorded, they do this in case the phone gets lost in transit.

In order to avoid ending up with 2 phones I’d personally send the first back and wait.

Do not do what you have suggested, Samsung track serial numbers and IMEI. They can also block phones.

Just refuse delivery on the first phone then you don't have to mess about with returning.
