    I think this tool would be more accurately described as wire strippers with crimping capability. As a wire stripper, this type of tool is excellent as it will strip thin insulated multi strand, single wires as well as twin core & earth, all without having to change a setting (usually). If you haven’t used this type before, buy this! You won’t be sorry.

    I’m a hobbyist, they’ve served me well for the 5-10 projects I’ve done over 2 years.

    Admittedly the crimping bit is a bit pants, but I mostly use the wire stripper, so the description offered up above by the other user is probably more accurate.

    Thanks OP. I saw these in Lidl, and thought it was just a crimping tool. But as wire strippers I might take a second look.

    Main use is stripping wire. Works everytime although high gauge wire sleeve cut off can end up in the tool and it won't work the next time. Blowing on it does not clear it. Stuck by static.
