The 13" and 15" Pros should be avoided. No comparison to the 14 and 16" models.

I guess you mean the Airs should be avoided in favour of the Pros? Not sure why, especially if you want a light laptop the MBAs are silent, thin and light when the MBP is bulky, heavy and has a fan.

MBA base specs are fine for most normal usage, or get 16gb ram for development, docker, light content creation etc. MBPs have a huge amount of performance on top, but you’ll know if you need that.

Make sure you video yourself opening the box or open it Infront of the driver in video. Do not trust AMAZON drivers with apple deliveries. You have been warned!!

Why when can't sell 16gb ram in retail
    Crazy-Climber's avatar
Because whilst most people don't need 16gb

Ive been using M1 8GB Macs for home and work use, games and vm's and photo editing etc etc on home machine and multiple tab web apps, ms apps, tableau, postman, sqldev on work machine and I couldnt count on my hands how many times Ive thought you know what this needs more memory as you can't count to 0.

But eh lets not go with actual experience lets go with opinions as they are much better....

The Amazon listing is messed up. If you click on the 256 option it goes up to £1499 with 512 in the description. The 512 option has 256 in the description at £1299. Who knows what you’ll get. (edited)
    the__cat's avatar
I noticed this too. I reckon you'll get the 256.

If only all seller descriptions were as unambiguous as this listing

8gb ram needs to be illegal n 2024, esp for laptops over 1k
    Crazy-Climber's avatar
Pray tell exactly what do you do on your M1/2/3 Air that needs 16gb?

£1300 for 8GB Ram? Is the seller Dick Turpin?
  8. LD2DVD's avatar
Actually trying to weigh up whether to get M2 version for £200 less. Apparently not a massive difference.

Will Apple bring out a reduced cost version perhaps with 4gb memory and 128gb storage. That would so nice for £999. Perhaps they could lower the spec even further?
    Ryan_ThompsonBQ4's avatar
    Are you joking?
  11. abeuk's avatar
    Invoice says 256gb
  12. Change_Me's avatar
When you place the order the Invoice will say it's a 256GB model

Welcome to HUKD congratulations on your 1st deal
  14. etcuk's avatar
So that’s how much you have to spend to get a headphone jack from Apple in 2024

Congrats on your first deal looks decent
  15. DingoDirk's avatar
Manufacturer reference is an iPad Pro, description is for 256GB.

    It's a mess.

Whatever you get you'll only get 8GB.
  16. PlanetG's avatar
For a new MacBook air model,it doesn't make sense for 512gb to be cheaper than 256. Listing is messed up. For 512 I am sure it is 1499.

Personally think not worth risking receiving a phone book/brick from Amazon. Better to get a refurb direct from apple once they are available.
    Nujol's avatar
? This is a new 2024 M3 model sold by Amazon direct. Why are you talking about refurbs?
  19. Rup's avatar
At checkout it shows 256gb ie RRP.
  20. trickz's avatar
Does this mean Macbook Air with M2 will drop in price?

The speed of these MBA’s is perfectly good for work. It was a lot quicker than a 2019 MB Pro (Intel) I have previously and way lighter. In the real world you don’t notice the screen differences.
  22. spareadime's avatar
Thanks for posting (even if it turns out to be a miss price) I have a matchbook Air M1 and a M1 iMac with 8GB Ram, rarely struggles running Photoshop/Luminar/ Apple Music/ mail/ safari at the same time, would prefer 16GB though, its down to cost and what you want to use the machine for I guess.

Thanks for taking your time to share your find , I genuinely wonder how amazon have messed this listing up so badly , sometimes they do leave us speechless.
