Second hand with warranty, I shucked 4 of these fora NAS install. Mine were White label same spec as REDS never had a problem with them.

These aren't the White label REDS like we had pre-2019. They're not even equivalent to older budget Blues with regards to quality. This also goes for any of the current Red, Red Pro, Gold. All have taken a massive hit in quality the past few years since they completely changed the manufacturing plant, and component brands.

    What does recertified mean? Thanks.

Referred as returns, but all the drives I got over the years, looked brand new. I believe the majority of them are factory seconds, drives that didn't pass the QC diagnostics, so longevity is probably compromised, I wouldn't risk to use them without backup.
I have about a couple of pairs of 4, 5, 6tb, none of them fail so far, but some develop a clicking sound. I only use them for backups, so not heavy use really. Used to be cheaper tho, not sure if still worth it now. (edited)

I hope these are better than the previous version. Mine was incredibly buggy and slow.

    Yikes, prices are so stagnant

It is insane how these drives have not gone down in price. I bought this brand new for £102 on Amazon on Black Friday in 2018. almost 6 years ago

I need a new drive to backup a storage space, I feel like I have been waiting for years for something to come up that is the right price.
