It was £6-50 in my local

It dropped today. It is possible that online pricing is a day ahead of in-store as you order for delivery from the next day. Or maybe they didn't update the shelf label yet!

Seed oils are possibly the biggest con and health hazard of our generation. They were used for industrial purposes as machinery oil and some genius came up with idea of further refining it and selling it to food industries. Lots of growing evidence that it is horrendous for long term human health.

I had no idea about this. Do you have any sources please?

Olive oil (for frying extra virgin but low temperature) , avocado oil, coconut oil, ghee clarified butter, you can use rapeseed or sunflower oil but if they are prepared in cold pressure process which is very rare at the moment (edited)

I don’t use seed oils myself but now this is back to normal price why are products that use seed oils still at high prices.

This works great in my diesel VW - the only slight issue is that it smokes a bit. The smoke smells so good though!

It might be better if you get it chipped.

Worst thing you can use in the kitchen

Bad for you... Better to use animal fats or coconut oil

You can't fry in high heat with those oils

This is an amazing deal. (Guessing this comment will go to the mods again for approval for whatever reason). 👀

Remember sunflower oil may be refined but it's never GMO. IBS & gluten sensitivity has exploded since rapeseed replaced it in everything.

Is the Sainsbury branded one better? Reviews say it is more "pure" than the KTC one:

It was the same in my local AlHalal supermarket. I think it will drop below £5 soon.

Can someone explain why the comments here are negative towards sunflower oil? I thought it's fine to cook with?

Don't listen to these people if you care about your health. Unless you think the medical establishment is out there to kill you and keep you sick. Then maybe you're better off spending your money on aluminium foil.
