All Olive Oil Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2020
Nice find and first deal @314Deals - thanks for taking time to share :)
I genuinely hate the taste of this stuff, vastly overrated IMHO....
Pretty sure I saw this oil in 500ml bottle at £1.99 at lidl today, making 750ml at just under £3?
Not for this price.
Thedropper in this is what makes it worthwhile
Make sure it's extra, extra virgin.
Just use some olive oil from the cupboard (y)
Seems very expensive - how many would I need for my salad? Tesco do a 1L boittle of olive oil for £3, could you not just put a few drops of that in your ear?
My Terra creta 5litre has a best before date of October 2021 so 13 litres I have is under 1 litre per Month or 200 ml per week so it is about right for my consumption. I make chilli oil too using dried habaneros, reapers etc as well as hummus so it will get used. Referring to survivalism I have been canning strong bread flour and chickpea flour today as well cas canning pineapples LOL :D
You are the future XD Oil does go off mind..
I’ve been stockpiling all sorts. I’m a survivalist.
Didn't see the stockpiling memo then
I ordered the 5 and 3 litre. The 5 litre cost £20.85 (£4.17 / litre) I recently ordered the Terra Creta 5 litres for £21.15 (£35 before discount) so I have a 13 litre stockpile of delicious Greek Olive oil to get through :o Chickpeas for £1.25 per kilo and tahini for £4.40 per kilo and that’s a lot of cheap tasty hummus.
For £6 a litre your getting into premium stuff from amazon if you buy it in 3ltr tins. Odysea evo at £17.50 for 3ltr or £2.91 per 500ml. Even cheaper on subcribe and save. And cheaper still for 5ltr tins if you search about. And it will taste a million times better than filippo berio.
This was £2.49 in B&M today
Costco has a deal this week. Filippo Berio , Organic extra virgin oil,1.5 litres oil, £5.49. 100% Organic, No Vat
Same stuff, same size £2.50 in Sainsburys
How can I find out How long this promotion will be at this price?
I made the direct comparison. Otherwise I could have just compared it to the Lidl own brand.
Also I'm guessing that's not organic version
As a comparison, same product, but in 500ml bottle in Tesco is £5.90
Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Filippo Berio Olive oil Enjoy having this stuck in your head (lol)
Good price. Having said that mild & light on good offer at Costco, if you have membership 5L @ 10.9
What would you recommend from a supermarket then?
Just to share a general useful bit of info not necessarily about this post's product but about its food category. If you're particular to get real olive oil be aware that fraud does exist in the olive oil world where oils are sold as olive oil but aren't. Read reviews before picking an oil particularly if you're trying to have olive oil for health reasons.
This stuff is amazing on stir fry and rice dishes.. though so easy to eat all of it in 2 sittings
Hahha did you guys read the news about how Tencent got fooled by two people who pretended to work for LaoGanMa, 130m pounds fraud for advertising in a Tencent owned online game? Haha
Except it isn't the original. Lao Gan Ma was established in 1997 (y)
Easy for you to say
Lee Kum Kee trying to capitalise on the Lao Gan Ma craze Can't beat the original
Received today via Royal mail post.
Says out of stock but just heard an ad for it on radio
just ordered thanks
I live in Lincolnshire and it let me order a sample! 😝
I bought it, thank you!
I have never seen this practiced in greece. It sounds terrible. PS I am greek.
5L PDO is here... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B088HSZQ8P?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&ref=vp_c_A25PSZQYEM5LPY
Many companies use machines to suck the olives up. And they have shifted this practise to night time. The birds are blinded by the light and get caught in the machine too. Some estimates from spain/portgual suggest thousands kiled a year. Was just wondering if this was the same for this company. But from what you say, it doesnt sound like this would be the case.
Good oil is definitely worth purchasing, the health benefits a side the taste of it is night and day. An argument my wife doesn't seem to understand as she thinks all oils taste/cook the same. £23 is good for 5L of proper olive oil. And the one review from it (lol) (lol) If you've ever wondered if Greek or Italian Olive Oil is best, this will put you straight! My girlfriend is Italian and she's always been a staunch believer in Italian Olive Oil, but the rich, complex flavour and aromas of this olive oil are absolutely incredible. You really can tell that the Kalamata region is the best in the world and for the price, 5 litres is an absolute steal. Needless to say the Italian is a convert - Greek Olive Oil all the way.
Managed to get 2 from Bargain Buys. Thanks for letting me know
Having ridden the bus from Grenada up and around the north of the Sierra Nevada you can see nothing but olives for hours on the bus, it is really amazing. Go and visit beautiful Ubeda and Baeza and you can probably see about 10-20 miles maybe with the plantations gradually climbing up the mountain range and still see nothing but olives.
For reference Extra Virgin Olive Oil seems to have stayed low in price for a long time now. ie 750ml bottles from Aldi/Lidl are £1.99 now. I'm sure you can find better but is perfectly decent stuff that I've used a load of over the last year.
Bad luck. Maybe it had sold out. Plenty in Bargain Buys in Hill Street though, unless it's now OOS too
I pretty sure this is not 100% olive oil.
super price, I posted it last week at 13.99, but this one beats the deal
I'll take as much as I can get my hands on at 1L for £2
yeah, even at £3.40 it was marked as reduced to clear, for the yellow and green variants - dont understand Tesco's store specific price reduction policy.
same deal is also available on extra virgin in the stores reducing the price
I went to another Tesco in my city and it was almost double the price of my local, don’t understand why they are not the same across the board
No evoo no dice
not the same price in my local Tesco Extra - it was £3.40 for both yellow and green :( good for those who can find it at £2.40 which is excellent price
I'm sure ( pure olive oil ) can be used for this purpose
Fascinating thread. Like Dr Popper but verbally!
Hardly ever away from the doctors we/they havr thrown everything at it. Currently awaiting a hospital appointment since November. Thanks to covid im way down the list to be seen
What's this tool? I want to clear my ear wax but have no idea what to get. What's this vacuum thing?
Seller has sold out, there is another chemist with same price/stock.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163769732889
10.99 from next week
That colour is just wrong for olive oil (even not being extra virgin) I don't think it's that far away from sunflower/vegetable oil
If you are cooking with it you might as well as get sunflower oil for £4/5 litres.
I wouldn't use this in a salad...
Extra Virgin has been previously been on offer from Costco at this price or £14.99 but not currently on offer. If you're after Extra virgin olive oil then try Kirkland's version- I think it is £9.79 for 3 litres at Costco.
I know that but you have to put a location in if it’s not an online deal. Originally I did not put the location in and the advert was not placed by the moderators until I added the location.
I think this is nationwide not just bedford
Actually is £2.40 at Tesco for same size.
They are £2.60 in Tesco if that is closer.. Tesco may not be widely in stock as it looks like reduced to clear deal...
Im sure this is 2.99 in Home Bargains and thats there standard price for it but Heat for people that dont have a home bargains near them.
Bought a bottle last week for £5 and have no complaints. Bought a bottle today for £2 and definitely have no complaints.
Reduced yesterday in Oakham. Doesn’t look like the best stuff, but at 2 quid a pop it’s worth it
The "light in colour " version reduced too at Hackney central superstore.
Reduced to Clear in Scunthorpe as well
Ah, okay dazbang, I understand. Thanks for the explanation.
Hi - It's just a personal thing and I don't really like imposing my thoughts on other peoples deals but there are ways of harvesting the olives that a lot of the big producers use that aren't exactly the best for the birdies (its a bit unpleasant but it's google-able). I'd rather buy oil that's hand-picked but labelling makes it very difficult to tell the method used... (my question was genuine too :) )
Hi, what do you mean 'song bird friendly'? Is this something birds would consume? Genuine question. :)
Just bought 4 in Sale (Hereford St) branch
t they do have lot in Harrow branch
Anyone seen in other stores?
Shelves cleared out
Expired June 2021.
