About this deal

Decent price for a week in Lake Garda. Just £97pp and includes flights, accommodation, have added a 20kg bag to the flights, as I think it's kind of a must, but optional to add further baggage. The park is about 15 miles from the airport, quite close, but would have to factor in transfer costs.

Eurocamp: Altomincio Family Park: 8th - 15th May (Total: £218.04)

We went to this camp in May last year with our 2 kids. Camp’s great and you can rent bikes on site. We cycled to Peschiera del Garda a couple times which is a fantastic town with loads to do

Well...me too, but you'll not get it at this price during school holidays. We're going to a campsite in France during the May holiday. Nearly £1.5k for 4 of us with flights. And that's with the kids missing 2 days of school. Otherwise, it would've been another £1k extra.
The same holiday 2 weeks earlier is £600 accommodation and flights for all 4 of us.

We went here last year. Absolutely loveley. Chalets were OK, bit basic but air con worked well which is the most important thing. About 30 mins from Garda and loads of ports and villages to visit locally. Would definitely go back...

    How expensive is the food?

Looks good for a family Rmcstar, but is there any chance of building a few good getaways for us solos?

Single people need holidays too! 😁

    Thankyou!

It’s not a package tour.  You need to book the flights and accommodation separately.  The post shows an example of Ryanair but you can choose whatever is best for you.

Lake Garda is absolutely beautiful. I deffo have to return, although not sure I would bring the kids. It's a lovely relaxing place, for sitting in cosy taverna, and less about entertaining the kids.

Agreed and only 20 minutes on the train to verona which is also amazing

Beautiful part of the world. Highly recommend. We did Ryanair / Eurocamp last June. Fantastic place, lots to see and do. Great food and great weather (bit too hot!). Recommend renting a car and then you can visit other places around the lake. You can use the ferries but they are very expensive, if you are travelling as a family.

The best way to enjoy lake garda is the ferries. About £30 for an all day pass (full lake) or £20 for north or south. Can usually do 4/5 towns per day. It's fantastic. Bus service is dirt cheap and very reliable too

Save yourself flights and the hassle checking in etc with kids and just get a cosy cottage in the Lake District!

Only difference is that you'll be stuck inside as it'll be pissing down 90% of your holidays 😜

Anyone driven over from London? how difficult was it?looking at Lake Garda due to having a dog cant fly?
    DJ8's avatar
1,800 mile round trip. 16+ hrs each way non-stop, probably 6 days of travelling. Would cost you about £800 in travel expenses and extra hotel nights on each leg.
  13. peterrossi's avatar
Yep, we’re going here in the May half term so a few weeks later and all in the flights and car it’s closer to £3k
  14. BargainBros's avatar
Also, your have to get a flight to lake Garda from this park. Its miles away!
    Justintime12's avatar
    7kms to be precise

Does anybody actually fly from Stanstead? I'm guessing not given its always the place to get the cheapest flights.
    Local.Hero's avatar
27.6 million people flew from Stansted last year. It’s a Ryanair hub so always a cheap flight to be had.

is it poss to book this without kids?

Yes, just don't book children in the flights

How are the pizza and pasta here? Also how are the drinks?
    multiplewicked's avatar
It probably sounds a bit cliché, but I have to say I had the best spaghetti and pesto ive ever eaten, at a small restaurant besides lake garda. I was chatting to my Italian friend about it, she said the its because the pesto is made to fresh. - I didnt drink much booze or pizza when I was there
