sorted by⛔This company doesn't provide a name or contact details for a designated safeguarding lead or their safeguarding policy on their website. This is a red flag to anyone thinking about sending their kids away with strangers.
⛔Their privacy policy still contains the "suggested text" markers, nor does it name who's responsible for maintaining and processing data, children's data, likely containing names and contact details of children and their parents.
⛔The company's terms and conditions state that their services are intended for individuals aged 18 or older, or incorporated entities. This contradicts their claim to empower young people, as it restricts their agency and participation without guardian consent.
⛔It is a company directed by two people. I might ask why a youth organisation wouldn't set up as a charity and get some trustees to provide governance and scrutiny.
NCS, launched 2011, would see up to £650,000,000 of public funds ploughed into the programme every year, which provided four weeks of 'activities' in the summer holidays, much of it making its way into private computing. At the same time, local youth clubs, centres, programmes, and projects that provide year-round activities and support would close their doors due to lack of funding.
Top tips for sending your kids away with strangers
✅It's never free
✅Safeguarding Policy with name and contact details for the Designated Safeguarding Lead and a safe recruitment policy (inc. DBS checks, references, two-stage interviews, ID checks)
✅Health and Safety policy
✅Data Protection with details of how the data is used and how long, how it's secured, how its destroyed, and who they share it with
✅Public and Employer's Liability Insurance (£10mil min), listings on companies house and charity commission, when we're they set up?
✅Qualified Staff (e.g. at least one of the 'leaders' should have Professional Youth Work Qualification at Level 6 JNC recognised, Teaching Qualification with QTS), otherwise they're just adults hanging out with kids.

makes excellent points though. I did notice the information on the NCS site was very minimal and almost obfuscating the details he mentions. I would look into it some more.
This isn't just some haphazard excursion; the NCS has been offering hundreds of free trips and facilitating experiences for thousands of kids for well over a decade. If there were any concerns regarding safety, I am pretty sure they would have been addressed and the program shut down a long time ago. It's crucial to conduct thorough research and due diligence checks before making any decisions.
Ultimately, every individual and their child should only engage in activities they feel comfortable with. I simply wanted to share this deal and incredible opportunity, as evidenced by the positive experiences shared by others in the comments.
When our children embark on new experiences, whether it be starting a new school, attending a holiday club, or joining a nursery, they are often entrusted to the care of strangers. It's important to remember that everyone is a stranger until you have the chance to get to know them!
In light of these valid points, I'm surprised the mods have allowed this deal to still be available....
Do your due diligence if you are thinking of doing this
