The GEL-VENTURE 9 shoe has been modified to provide better cushioning. Its functionality has been strategically designed for when you're shifting from the outdoors to city streets.

The midsole has been modified with AMPLIFOAM cushioning and a higher stack height. When combined with the rearfoot GEL technology, these features help create a softer and more comfortable feel underfoot.

Meanwhile, the outsole features an advanced traction pattern that's functional for the road and trail surfaces.

Shame they aren't the WP/goretex version, I expect they are £10-£20 more when they are on offer.

But you can't go wrong with ASICS for comfort, true to size and they last a while. HOT.

Yeah, the Gortex would have been good even with a bit more dosh added... Bought the Asics GT2000 Gortex trails and they are good last time. I am sure it was around the £50 mark or a bit lower.

I bought these recently but had to return. I've always been a 10.5 in Asics but these felt like a 10 and rather narrow. I was the same with the Salmon Speed cross 5s.

Guess my teen will be getting them if they are too narrow

I have the Gel Venture 8's. They "lasted" about a year.

A review on the Gel Venture 9's can be found here

    - Looks the like the heel sill hasn't improved as it wears pretty quick.

Word of warning, if you have wide feet, probably not the trainer/shoe for you. I found them very narrow and mine were the 8 waterproofs.

Appreciate you taking the time to say not for wide feet, was tempted. I have the Pegasus Trail 4 which equally aren't that wide but wanted a sacraficial pair of cheaper trail runners too.

These feel comfortable and snug, I am newbie and hoping to do my first 10k run in the next few months with these.

Enjoy the journey. I'm a rubbish runner so my only recommendation is something I do too often: not to set off too fast each run. I enjoy the experience more and set a better overall pace anyway.

Just bought a pair from an outlet store for a race this weekend which is mixed terrain 80R/20T split. Due to the weather conditions I was hoping to run in road shoes but it's looking sloppy and muddy on the trail bits still and I don't fancy running all the road bits in my trail shoes which are pretty full on, so I thought these would do. As people have said sizing is a bit off on these and these are actually my second pair as the first pair I bought online when they were released were really small and narrow for Asics and hurt me after a few miles so I gave them to a family member. I went a full size up today and now they feel like they should. To me these are a very different to the gel-venture 8 feeling a bit more like a road shoe and I think the grip is similar to the older Sonoma model.

I know these are marketed as a short distance and walking shoe but I ran an ultra in a pair of gel venture 8's a couple of years ago due to weather ruining the original footwear plan by being too dry that time so they are probably a pretty good all rounder. They just don't have as much cushioning or the fancy foams of the higher models. Again off road I find this less of an issue than road shoes where I like to be as cushioned as possible.

Anyone got this shoe? Is it good?

These are my favourite everyday shoe. Good all-rounder, but I also have other lighter styles for longer distance runs.

Kinda like the look of these... And for this price, given usual selling price, brand, reviews etc..IMO a good enough deal!

    Factor in 76p I think in TCB/Quidcon 2.55% ..

Lots of options at time of writing.

    HEAT 🔥

I'm surprised people like Asics. I've owned 3 different pairs of their shoes over past few years and they are just not comfy and ultimately end up hurting my feet.
Won't be buying them again. Maybe my feet and Asics just don't get on
    GrabbyFeet's avatar
Not getting on with certain brands is definitely a real thing. I won't list all the brands I can't wear as it's long. I can wear Asics, Mizuno and Altra though.

Thanks OP mine came today, they are a really comfortable shoe and the sizing was spot on for me.I'm going to get another pair when my preferred colour comes back in stock

Are these waterproof. Have an older pair and they are great for commuting on the bike with dry feet
    SpencerUk's avatar
No, you specifically need to look for the waterproof version

Looks like the listed price is £52.50 not £70 as mentioned in this post, did anyone else notice this or am I missing something ?

I believe the £51.20 is the sale price and then they are doing a further 20% off to bring it down to £41.60.

If you look around they are discounted elsewhere aswell, so whilst a decent price the original £70 RRP probably isn’t a good benchmark.

Ordered some. A bit confusing having the red 'total savings £32.56' at the end of the pricing summary as I initially thought that was the price to be paid until I read it properly.

Looks like only the Black/Tuna Blue brings it down to the price in the deal from what I can see. (edited)

Great price, nice tip on the extra discount and free delivery. Thanks for posting just ordered a pair in black/golden yellow. 😃👊

Does anyone that watches the outlet store often, know how often they tend to re stock shoes as I would like the darker blue pair in midnight/sky but the 9.5 is out of stock
  23. User346's avatar
Ordered his and hers let's see if they will work better with my bad knee. In my old shoes i can't make it past 3km mark before getting into too much pain!

Good find. Do these have shock absorption?
  25. Lee_Hetherington's avatar
Anyone else have problem with these folding in at the toe? Its quite uncomfortable. Only seems to be one though unless i shift my weight forward so wondering if its likely a defect?52623487-vswoH.jpg
    DaftTC's avatar
Looks like a defect to me.
  26. wonger73's avatar
    Thank you

They are great trainers, well made and very comfortable.I'm surprised at how comfy they are, ideal for brisk walking for me as they have just the right amount of cushion under foot without being too soft so you don't lose all of your energy. This is my second pair of Asics and I measure a 9 in Clarks and Skechers but go up half a size in Asics to a 9.5 which makes them size the same as Adidas for me
