Ugly as hell

wadeywilson1

I've got two pairs of Nike's and one Brooks in my rotation, quality on all three is good, if you like Ghosts, maybe try the Pegasus 35 Edit: You got me thinking, just checked, my Brooks ans Nike's are made in Vietnam

peekaboo92

And it just so happens that Nike and Adidias are by far the biggest sports brands in the world. Like I said above sports personalties are PAID to wear this stuff by Nike and Adidas. They get the stuff for free and dont have to worry about holes in their shoes :) If you think about it those are the two companies really known for their chinese sweat shops where youngsters get paid 10p an hour to stitch their stuff together. The MASSIVE amounts that they produce and ship is unlike any other smaller sports brands. That would make me conclude that smaller brands, while still maybe made in china could have more quality control as the volume is minuscule compared to Adidas or Nike. Puma are probably next and they dont make great stuff either. I just checked my Ghost 10's and they are made in china too. Nothing wrong with that as nearly everything is made in china but I feel like (as all the press etc would indicate) that Nike and Adidias are all about large scale production at the cheapest price possible. That doesnt just include cheap labour but also cheap materials most likely too. If you choose 10 different sports shops and go into them all I bet every single one will stock Nike and Adidas without a doubt. These smaller running shoe brands arent like that. Im not hating on Nike or Adidas im just saying that my shoes fell apart and they were £120. Online at the time it was easy to find lots of complaints, maybe there still are a lot I dont know. I wear Brooks now atm but im not super keen on them now that ive had them a while so I will prob change brands next time again. Just a personal thing :D

wadeywilson1

The marathon world record holder usually wears Adidas or Nike, if another manufacturer made a better shoe, they would wear that. Its not really fair to make such generalisations. Nike and Adidas make some great shoes, and some pretty poor ones too.

peekaboo92

That's a good experience then you've had. Not sure what ones I had but there were £120 and they lasted 3 to 4 months. It started with holes in the toes then the front and side started separating. At that time (maybe around 2 years ago) I googled it and was easy to find many complaints from people about this issue. I've used £80 Asics before and they were on another level in terms of quality. Nike are the same as I've really noticed this now after it happened to me. The toes go first then the glue separates. The Adidas are very very comfy and def more comfy that the Brooks I have now though. Funny enough our 2 local running clubs no one would use these brands though Asics are very popular. Suacony too which I've never tried. Professional athletes are paid to wear brands and get them free.

I bought these when they were on offer at Amazon a few months ago, the advice then was to go up a size. I’m an 11, got a 12 and they were spot on.

filthycatbox

Apparently the sizing is the same as the GTX, so make sure you go for half or a full size up.

dealchaser888

thanks a lot

p3te_hill

They do come up small, I’m usually a 8.5 but went for 9.5. HTH.

badgersbum

They're very narrow in the centre of the foot, which feels weird at first but actually gives loads of support to the arch of the foot. I went for a 9 and I'm usually 8-8.5, they fit well.

Good reviews score is in 90’s on independent website I bought some - I seem to get on with ASICS but not so well other brands.

i'm not sure what you mean by "the epic have no front foot support" , most of the newer Nike running shoes are made for fore foot runners. Running in the Epic & odyssey reacts (and especially the vaporflys) is easier for fore foot runners.

fiqqer

I have found most of the Nike "running shoes" are just lifestyle shoes and are not suitable for running - those with the clear plastic tend to puncture and then become useless. I have encountered the sole unit separates from the sock part and no heel support. The epic have no front foot support and have a sole that wears quickly and slips in anything but dry tarmac. The best of Nike's for me has been the Pegasus range, they have a relatively narrow fitting so may not be suitable for you. Your best bet are Asics Gel series and the Adidas Boost range at present. Mizuono and New Balance always produce consistent but rather bland real running shoes.

tammyy

any unidays code anyone .....cheers

escortboy

Extra 10% off student discount works on these btw with Unidays.

bluntmachetti

Get the epic reacts, they are not quite the vaporflys but they are incredibly reactive fast.

Bought these last year and still going strong. Have to say the wireless speaker by the same company is also still going well, and fabulous sound quality. Also got https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074W1WWNK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on Black Friday last year for about £15 and would say they are better quality but currently on at £20 with a possible 5% discount.

Yeah mate did it this year, it said that stage was horrendous, people collapsing, crying, the group he was in had to all stick together in the pitch black at one point and try to get a bit off sleep before the sun came up, fair play to anyone who completes it

I couldn't agree more i have the mi band 2 and intend getting the band 3 soon. This Huawei is a bit different in that it is basically for runners with its ability to be placed on shoe when running giving data for landing method, ground impact, valgus amplitude, swing angle, stride, step frequency, touchdown time), and offer scientific interpretation and motion suggestions for running parameters , so thought worth posting for fitness fanatics

jaffacake

my mi band 3 cost around 20 quid and for that is damn fine. can read emails, texts, on the band, also all notifications work well. unlocks phone(android) so i never need enter a pin to open the screen. has alarms, counts steps, measures sleep, accurate too! I can share the information with friends/family via the mi app. finally it needs charging about once a month, takes maybe 4 hours. even tells the time in case that's important :-) no GPS (totally unimportant to me because i always have my phone with me) but also no NFC (i'd love to be able to pay for stuff with google pay via my watch). but would highly recommend for the money.

Tim1581

I already have a Garmin Forerunner... Do I need this?

adrian.roy

I've got mi band 3 and it's awesome for what you pay for and in my opinion looks better as well

Neil1975

I didn't even think they were out yet, thought they were preorders. Never had a problem with batteries on any of my huawei stuff.
