I wouldn't particularly recommend these, not for general use or even in an emergency. Because they have a limited number of spring loaded rods they can only approximate the socket size, which in turn means they are liable to chew up anything you use them on. And in an emergency they can't be relied upon to actually do the job compared to the correct socket.

When it comes to bolts / fasteners you just gotta use the right tool. Cyclists would be wise to have a mini socket set on hand. Drivers should know how to swap their spare (if they even have one these days).

25mm diameter Socket won't fit in the area where smaller nuts are. As much use as a Chocolate T-Pot I found out. No good for resessed Nuts.

I suspect that most people who have significant experience of working on vehicles wouldn't even bother trying this, as it's obviously not going to be effective.

Taking my opinion out of this, lets look at some facts.
1 This claims to do 7 to 19mm. That's 13 different sizes*. There are 6 sets of pins, so it follows that it could only possibly cover 8 different sizes with a snug fit. I doubt they are worried about things like a snug fit, as long as these sell.
[*I know there are fewer standard sizes, but I've encountered every single size between 7 and 19mm]

2 What stops the pins moving under load ? Nothing.

Junk really, a solution to a non-existant problem.

Nut doesn't have to be in the center. Clearance of 25mm, not much good for a Motor Bike. Set came in a case with extender bars, T-Bar and an adapter 1/2" to 1/4"

They must have made Millions of them 20 Years ago, they turn up in Aldi, Lidl, Wilko with video running and Town Markets. Cost £5.

I think they were original designed to loosen Nuts that have rounded off.

    Spring loaded Pins do lock.

I can't even find it except for the useful adapters that are in a Metal Quality Street Tin with Sockets. Needs to used with a better ratchet tool. (edited)

Thanks OP but does anyone actually own this brand version, or buy one and can post a follow up review ?
These are usually made of cheesium and are only good for single use and or rounding off bolt heads?

Yeah, I imagine they have their use. Things like kids toys and plastic bolts, something lightweight that needs nipping up rather than torque loading. I used to make aircraft parts and I’d have been shot if I used one of these same as if I’d used an adjustable spanner. Not precision enough.

I can't remember the size of the one in my car but they are so much better (coupled with an extendable wrench bar) than the standard kit at getting wheel bolts undone

I bought one ages ago and it works great when you can’t quite find the right size wrench, but be aware if you’re using too much torque individual bits can snap off. It’s cheap enough that it’s worth replacing though

Bought this last time around, but unfortunately it fell apart when you use it on a tight nut. Probably alright on some applications, but not on heavy applications.
