Confirming what others have said, have tested on a 980ti, 1080 and a 3080. All persist with major drops in certain sections that cannot be brute forced with hardware. If you can I would suggest picking it up on any Xbox machine (yes even the 360) over the PC one. Which is a shame because Gears 4/5 run great on PC. You can still enjoy the game on PC if you don't have a console, but it may ruin your fun.

Rumours swirl that a PC collection for all gears is in dev like the Halo MCC, but who knows for sure. (edited)

Recently i thought id pick this up out of curiosity on how it compares to the first GOW on PC which i have running Maxed out @4k/120, but it seems that this Ultimate Edition got badly broken (framerate wise) from a Window 10 update sometime ago and that there were many a thread on the GOW official Forums discussing this and that The Coalition who made the game were fully aware of this issue aswell, where the Framerate would just tank for no apparent reason, they ended up never providing a patch to fix this issue and deleting all Threads from there Official forums about this issue and banning several members along the way.

Anyhow im running a RX 7900XTX / 5800X3D / 32gb 3600 CL14 / Win 11 Pro and i can get it to run maxed out @4k/120 but am having random wild fluctuations down to 75fps for no apparent reason with only 65% GPU utilisation before it springs back up to 120fps, if it was not for my Free-Sync display it would break the game but as it is it plays very smoothly because of this.

The only way that ive found through tinkering to get it to lock at 120fps is to use the 'Low Setting for Shadows' and that works 100%.

So I grabbed it and have been playing it for around 2-3hrs now so far on my pc it's running great apart from one loading stutter 4k textures and maxed out etc

Heard game has issues on anything that isn't Windows 7 and never got patched

Amazing game still holds up as one of the greatest action sci-fi games ever made.
