It's tempting. There are a few Xbox 360 exclusive JRPGs I am yet to play.

might be worth considering for a 4k blu ray player as well

I very nearly made an impulse purchase there and then realised there's zero reason for me to own one if I had a PS4 and now have a Series S.

And yes, I'm aware it has a 4K Blu-ray player.

Why are consoles dropping in price? 😔 I remember getting mine during COVID for £200+
    Haircut_100's avatar
Because these are last gen consoles that are now older devices and the Series S and X are easily available at good prices. Sure, you paid £200 for yours but that’s what the going price was a few years back and you’ve been able to play it all this time. No point dwelling on a console being cheaper to buy a few years after you bought and enjoyed yours.

Do these definitely come with a genuine (wireless) pad? Just says working controller, could it not be something wired and third party?

Game have never accepted third party controllers when trading in consoles, so these will be remaining stock as they no longer deal with used items in-store. (edited)

Upgraded ours by swapping the internal 500GB HDD for a 1TB SSD and made a huge difference, turns on and loads games in about half the time now (and double the storage is useful too!).

I prefer it to my Series S as the storage upgrade options for that are a mess and moving between drives is frustrating. (edited)

Was it easy to swap in the SSD?

Bargain!! These still sell for £145 in CEX. Still a lot of great games to play on it. I love mine. A great looking console that always runs quietly. It's also very power efficient too. (edited)

Excellent price for a device that is a 4K Blu-ray player. Always found it funny how the PS4 Pro couldn’t play 4K discs but the One S could.

I still use the old controller on my Series S ..... Works fine and feels nice!

Still using One S and have physical games not played. Currently playing The Division and Battlefield. Not interested in 'next gen', until price and game selection improves'. Also still using the PS3. Would recommend One S (and PS3) for cheap gaming and streaming apps (e.g. Netflix, Disney, etc.)

Instore they have the 2TB version of this for £79.99.

You'll be lucky to find one as a lot of stores returned their old consoles back to head office. My local GAME told me that.

These deals are good for last gen. - As long as you're happy not playing the latest games you're set.

I was going to trade in my Xbox One X to CEX £86 cash .. (i only paid £150 with Far Cry 5 in 2018 brand new from a deal on here).

In order to sell to CEX you need to have cables, controller etc. If its boxed you get slightly more money.

I figure, a new controller for Xbox Series S & X costs £40. I might as well keep my One X and if my current controller ever dies, then i could use that controller instead of spending another £40.

One X is actually better graphically in some games over the Series S. You don't get the ultra fsat SSD, quick resume on One X, but you do slightly better graphics.
