Fantastic price for what you get.

If you’ve got young kids and are on a budget, this is a no brainier really.

The accommodation in silver is super basic, nothing fancy at all, but the entertainment is usually decent, you’ve got the free funfair, lots of places to eat and you’re near the seaside. The buffet style dining is fine for the money too if you don’t want to worry about spending anything much extra whilst you’re there.

We’ve had to do Butlins holidays when money was tight and our little ones were small, there’s nothing wrong with it at all. Our kids still talk about how much fun they had to this day and when we went to Florida last year, our eldest said she’s rather of gone to Minehead (that helped me massively when counting up how much we spent for 12 days in Florida)

We to went to Butlins every year when our family of 7 were small, and they still talk about it now! But just got back from Skegness Butlins with the grown up family and their own families for a walk down memory lane, was great to see what's still there and what isn't. What an eye-opener, booking compulsory for such as swimming, shows etc( used to just walk in anywhere when our kids were little) and the food prices! Coffee and sandwich for 2, was £20 ! No way could we take our family there now without a remortgage! Was lovely though for what we wanted, grown up memories x

Are rides on the helter-skelter included? Can we sue someone if we get splinters these days? Great price tho. Well worth the risk 🤪
    darren6542003's avatar
We found a used needle in the bathroom of our accommodation on our’ just for tots’ break once, and they weren’t bothered about that, so I’ll let you decide on the splinter

    Can only adults go?
    dawyldthing's avatar
There’s only adult weekends, but not at this price. They have cancelled only adult bookings too so worth bearing in mind

If Butlins would give me money to go I wouldn't....went once in Minehead...never again...tourism in the UK is a hard pass for me...
    djp2k8's avatar
Do you go to Benidorm & enjoy a full English on the front?
  6. mchu6am4's avatar
They want £3800 for one week in August at minehead in a chalet for 5 of us!
    Cheeky_Chap's avatar
At least you get to keep the chalet right?

having experienced Pontins Southport as part of a music weekender in the 90's, never again great music but the facilities were atrocious.
    Cheeky_Chap's avatar
Pontins Southport is a special case unto itself!
Plus that's Pontins not Butlins, different companies, the clue was in the spelling

I paid over £700 half board for the easter weekend in a silver chalet at Bognor. The first place was fully booked and my 9 year olds loved it. You can't compare Butlins with Pontins, Pontins is delapidated, the roof literally fell in at one of their sites.
    iGlad's avatar
The roof did fall ion and sadly killed a grandmother, then again it was owned by Britannia hotels so one should expect nothing less.

    Amazing deal.
Bognor was amazing a few years back

God, to think..I thought Butlins was posh when I was a kid
  13. jsac's avatar
Butlins are paying to stay there?
  14. Dragon32's avatar
    Hot from me.

I am a bit fussy and was dubious about booking 4 nights at Minehead in Feb, but must admit we had a great stay and accommodation was good (although did upgrade to the chalet with kitchen and living room so cost a little bit extra (was something like £117 in total)).
  15. EdUnit's avatar
£12.50 a night for a stay at Butlins.. seems a bit overpriced.. by about £12.49
    youngchap's avatar
    Eh how why
  16. ShugR's avatar
£49 for 4 nights and people on here complaining it's not 5 star.
Great price for a family or anyone on a budget
  17. dawyldthing's avatar
Only problem with Skegness atm is half the pools still being fixed so you’re only left with the entertainment, rides, outdoor thing too. Don’t know if there’s enough there for 5 days, but it is pretty close to the rides down the road
    juliea160's avatar
There's lots of other things locally, Fantasy Island rides and market, Seal Sanctuary, Aquarium, Fairground, Beach.... love a bit of Skeg Vegas!

I used to put Butlins deals on here till the person in charge of this website decided I must have something to do with Butlins which I most certainly do not. So I’ve been banned from putting them on. Still seething over it tbh!

    Free? How come?
  23. spenspuma's avatar
Id pay them £49 to NOT have to stay there. (edited)

Don't forget to watch Confessions of a Holiday Camp before you go. 😄

Does anyone know if they've got a policy on tattoos? Some of my friends want to go but haven't got any.
  26. beaufinder1's avatar
They’ve been charging so much hoping people will book so now they have to basically give them away.
  27. leelee6781's avatar
Not sure if it will work, but there's £31.50 off with Bluelightcard.
You have to spend over £89 somehow :/
    Mooney70's avatar
You just book an apartment instead of room only as they'll be more expensive.
  28. soapqueen040's avatar
Been to the Bognor one well over 10 times when kids were small, great place for young kids. I would love to go, just not sure my teenager son would be that thrilled now with a trip to Butlins, probably no looker 'cool' . If i lived closer i'd be tempted to just go by myself for the week
  29. youngchap's avatar
    Any good for adults?
    dawyldthing's avatar
They often cancel only adult bookings, but there are adult only weekends with various themes available

I've booked 3 nights at Skegness Butlin's 5th to 8th July for 4 adults and it let me. Even though it's classed as a family break for just over £38 each. It might even be decent weather in July?
Nice weekend away for a bargain price can't fault it.

I also get £35 worth of vouchers to spend as I'm a premier club gold member. So it'll have cost £118 when i factor those in.
But if you book a just for tots break then you'll need an under 5 with you on those. (edited)
  32. delfinostar's avatar
Butlins is the worst in the world! Stayed with kids for free and never again. What a waste of time!!!!!
  33. Vlad-T's avatar
Went to Bognor in October. Silver room, what a dump. Minehead isn’t much better
  34. youngchap's avatar
Is it any good for a big boy honeymoon?

On a serious note, is it like a hotel or camping?

, it seems good for kids like rides and even go kart is for kids?

For this deal how many adults can stay in? If one of us wants to leave, followed by another family member coming in to join then is that okay? Do they ask for IDs? (edited)
    Mooney70's avatar
If it's a family break then I've booked for 4 adults without any problems. But the tots breaks need an under 5 with you. You can arrive at different times and you'll need photo id on arrival. Well you do on the adult music weekends. So I'd treat family breaks the same. The go carts are £7 per person at skeggy.
  35. Cuddl3s's avatar
Can anyone share some thoughts on the entertainment costs at Skegness, is the all action pass worth it if you got 6 year olds?
  36. galdean's avatar
Accomodation is dirty at Minehead. Will never go back.
    youngchap's avatar
Can we not go to the reception and ask them to sort it all out?
  37. youngchap's avatar
If we book a tots break where they need a child as one of the dates in the listing is tots break then is there way around it? I couldn't make any other date so have to book the tots one but no child?
