sorted byJust 3 days spent in different Norwegian ports.
Most of the stunning scenery will pass you by while you dine or sleep.
The other 3 days are spent at sea travelling from Southampton to Norway & back via the North Sea.
I saw more of the Norwegian Fjords on a daytime catamaran ferry from Bergen to Flam as part of a circular route via the Flam Railway to Myrdal and back to Bergen by train. Cheap and cheerful, but far more memorable.
I even saw a monster of a cruise ship moored up at Flam. The tiny port is a total tourist trap, and was completely overwhelmed with a ship load of passengers all wandering around not knowing what to do with their day. Spend money on souvenirs & tat for an hour, and back to the ship for drinks.
If you want to see stunning Norway, this isn't the way to do it.
Good price for a cruise though.
I had my buddy with me, she's no problem at all and doesn't answer back!
Solo in a Bella (no benefits and cabin allocated) with premium drinks £969, £999 with Fantastica as above.
This is a GREAT price for a Norway cruise but on top of that you get to visit the Shetlands!
I booked yesterday!
DON’T DILLY DALLY IF YOU THINK YOU MAY WANT DRINKS GET THEM INNTHE INITIAL PRICE! It’s so nice to be able to stop in at any of the 21 bars for a tea, selection of coffees, fresh orange juice, bottle of water, beer, top level spirits or champagne on an unlimited bases without checking your bill every 3 hrs or so worried your spending too much, it makes the cruise a relaxing cruise not a mental torture game. Even if a non drinker you get more than your value from non alcoholic cocktails and other drinks and all worry free!

Drinks package - this allows you to go in any of the 21 or so bar venues coffee shops on the ship and drink whatever your package allows for free and unlimited, see my post explaining what each package is and costs of drinks. You can also have teas coffees and non alcoholic drinks. I must say it’s so nice to have a package and enjoy the whole experience of dropping in and out of venues without concern of what expenses you could be running up, rather than skimp going backwards and forwards to the buffet to fill a water bottle but then if that is up to the individual but you certainly don’t have the experience no matter what is said.
When docked - when docked it’s your choice, stay and enjoy the quietness and all facilities or you can get on and off the ship when we you want by having your cruise card scanned, you get this credit card sized ID card when you board and it opens your cabin door and is used for purchases, cash is not used aboard. WHEN YOU LEAVE THE SHIP IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO BE BACK AT THE DESIGNATED TIME OR YOU WILL BE LEFT BEHIND, THE SHIP WILL NOT WAIT. If you are on a ship’s excursion and it is late that is the only exception, if on your own your left!
Hope that helps. (edited)
I had heard horror stories of £50 bottles of basic wine and £15 pints but I looked into the P&O Norwegian cruise that was posted recently and was surprised to find that drinks on board are very reasonably priced - around the same as UK pub prices. So unless you are drinking a vast amount (more than 8 pints a day of beer for example) the packages aren't worth it.
Then click: (think 11th is closest) or a 2nt one on the 9th

For info:
The Flam famous Railway Excursion is FULLY BOOKED for anyone thinking of going for that! (edited)
Actually it might of been more like £150 it was years ago mind you time machine (edited)
Prices were changing, I got £699 but next day had dropped £20 but now more so it’s a lottery really as to when to buy, some you win some you lose but it’s just pennies really.
Seems the agent has messed up so happy days for you, your MSC invoice ‘should’ match that of the agents.
The MSC website classes the inside cabins on the higher decks as 'Deluxe' although ,as I've said before, most of the inside cabins are the same no matter what deck they are on.
The lower deck inside are also classified as deluxe.
IR1 and IR2 are all deluxe interior

Dont nknow why it won't display the images for me.
All Bella bookings get one of those cabins as they are the only ones available.
(unless solo then there are the studio)
Fantastica is not a cabin grade it is an "experience" in MSC speak. (edited)
If you need to go to see a Dr as soon as you knock on the hospital door it is £100 before they talk to you but the care is amazing and not silly expensive unless you have a severe wonk explode!
Thank you. It sounds like adding the package at the time of booking is the best plan.
With MSC if offered the package is always cheaper at time of booking if you decide you want/need it.
UK always packages premium.
It tends to be in the £30-£35pppd some cruises more some less, sometimes they adjust the cruise fare/package balance.
Some cruises package not available.
We can manage PAYG on some MSC cruises.
Last one spends were £260 package would have been £420.
Some are happy with the €15 select drinks with meals(MDR and buffet), option only available on board.
If Virtuosa returns to £ for the Southampton season need to find the new prices once they start(Tues 23 April)
For the other extras(dining, spa, fun etc.) most are cheaper in advance.
