As one alternative to consider, OpeNoise is free, open source and does not collect any data.

Cheers - Dld. need to have a play with it, but seems decent and gives alot of info in different formats.

If nothing else, it was worth it to prove my kid can't seem to talk without shouting. For that alone and the laugh it gave my wife & I, I thank you. (edited)

Totally useless. Microphones among the plethora of android devices vary so much that using this app is no better than guessing.

I have a handheld sound level meter and even that has to be calibrated first so I've no idea how an app, run on many different phones with different microphones, can claim to be accurate. 🤷

Yep. This is purely a company trying to collect data. Useless gimmick. Reminds me of the "drink" ones when the app store opened where you could pretend to drink a pint.

If you're using it to set up surround sound to set to reference levels then I would buy a proper meter,if you're setting up surround sound to get speaker levels aligned it should be good enough

Across the frequently range? I think not!

This would be good (of course if it'd be accurate) to measure those pesky ice cream vans blasting their "music" through the estates
