Will this work ok with PS5 or screen will be stretched?
    G_M_K's avatar
It will work but there will be black bars either side instead of being stretched. PS5 doesn't have ultrawide support

Might be worth putting 144hz and possibly 1ms in title. Generally these are omitted if the monitor doesn't possess them so might get missed by some.

some pretty nasty black smear on this panel
around the lower end i would avoid VA panels- they get a bad rep for the black smear issue.

the sammy VAs are (generally) excellent but pricey

my opinion is still the same, for entry level - buy an IPS panel. you wont notice the grey blacks if you don't have another panel to compare it to and the motion is flawless on the good IPS panels.
TN is even better- something really beautiful about TN motion ( at 144hz), i prefer it to the motion of 120 hz OLED- but TN colour is the worst

TN panels are responsive and support high fresh rates at a low cost. IPS panels have much better visual fidelity than TN panels, and can have similar performance, but they cost more. VA panels are a compromise between TN and IPS panels. VA panels have excellent contrast, and are good multi-purpose displays.

Personally I only buy IPS panels due to viewing angles. But there's more to it then that and "how to geek" explain the differences well. (edited)

This is great for a WFH setup - brilliant for coding too. The gaming aspects are just a plus at this point.

    Thanks OP, heat added (edited)

Yeah I'm thinking of buying predominantly for WFH, but also should be good for gaming too. Seems good price

Really not in the market for a new monitor but this is a tempting price. As time goes on I'm going to want to drop to 1440p and I've always wanted an ultrawide... Ahhh tempted.

is 4k an overkill for a monitor in your opinion?

Will this work with Xbox series x or will it have black lines?
    EugeneVictorTooms's avatar
Both. It'll work but the Xbox does not output in ultrawide so yep, black bars.
