Good deal fair play. I'm not sure I'd want to spend a week just in Loudres - touristy and busy. However, it would make a great base to explore the surrounding area which is lovely (especially so if you hire a car but not essential). Tarbes and Pau nearby and Bayonne on the coast some 90min drive. Lourdes lake is really lovely. Fab part of the world.

This - Lourdes is a pit outside of the Cathedral and grounds -- Gascony is a lovely area tho

PSA This website isn't the Thomas Cook of old. That tour operator went bust and was acquired by a Chinese company that now trades under the name, as a travel agent similar to On TheBeach and LoveHolidays.

We were told (at Catholic school) all about Lourdes. I spent years wondering why we never won a cricket game there when there was supposed to be miracles happening....school....lovely.

If only Ted Crilly had known, he could have sent that poor girl to Lourdes and let the rest of the money rest in his account longer.

What kind of miracles can we expect? Happy to pay premium for better class of divine intervention.

Absolutely. The 'religious' bits I found interesting and well worth a visit, but also somewhat depressing -included busloads of infirm and elderly hoping for miracles. Loads & loads of cheap tat for sale including a Virgin Mary switchblade I kid you not. The big plus otherwise is the area - the scenery, the French vibe and of course the food 'n wine

Ive been, day trip from another resort, and it was the spookiest place I've ever visited. You can see the baths people would be placed in to be 'cured', and loads of abandoned walking sticks... Weird. Couldn't wait to get out of there.
