Got a free beer using this coupon but only after the cashier called over a supervisor to sort it because the barcode wouldn't scan and the number didn't work either. This was a participating store according to the website.

Intrigued by the claims it's a scam because there is a lot that's weird about it. The instructions for claiming the offer say you have to enable WiFi on your phone and allow location privileges. Then the barcode it gives you is animated for some reason and if the barcode doesn't work it'll give you a number for the cashier to enter and bizarrely that number is animated too.

To me this is odd and off-putting but doesn't necessarily add up to scam. What's the theory of how the supposed scam is supposed to work? I get that phone numbers and location data are valuable to unscrupulous actors but at the cost of publicly robbing a huge corporation? This promotion is undoubtedly extremely shambolic but I'm inclined to put it down to incompetence rather than malice.

For those asking why the deal has stopped working before the expiry date, it does state in the T&Cs that they'll only give out a maximum of 3,000 coupons.

EDIT: Should rather have said they'll only allow 3,000 to be redeemed, since some have reported getting a coupon only to have it expire.

Picked up 2 as had two coupons, opened the one link but didn’t scan so they just took £5 off my bill.

Put bags back in car and went back around to get another 2 as the one voucher wasn’t opened yet and the other was ticking down, went to a different till and again wouldn’t scan so they only took £2.50 off this time and I just paid for the other one. But still have one voucher which I’ve not activated

I followed the instructions it gives you as you go through the link and it worked perfectly at the customer services desk.

Guys this is absolutely not true. I took a 3-mile round trip today walking to get this deal for something to do and three members of staff, till, till manager and customer service at a participating Tesco in Gorton Manchester told me it's a scam.

Even IF people have been getting it by having the staff manually input the barcode number, they assured me that is defrauding Tesco and the company gets no money from the company producing the vouchers. It's a scam to harvest peoples phone numbers.

You simply most remove this deal. The comments speak volumes as does the company's website where you will see scant legal information and that there contact us form to email them doesn't actually work.

This is a scam Tesco Gorton just refused to take it said the company can just invent vouchers for non existent offers to get our data. Customer service backed up the person on the till and the till manager. Guttered went out of my way to come to this tesco.

This was total scam. ThenSMS says the offer is valid for ten days but when you log in again it has already expired even though 10mdays haven't passed. What a joke!

This looks like a flashing barcode so is likely to be tricky to redeem, I usually get these to work with some perseverance, would be useful to know if others are successful with this or not
