I've just gone for it and it arrived as 4 x 3 month codes which might be handy heads up for anyone trying to split / share it. Anyways it added one week short of 7 months to ultimate (which rounding to 7 months works out at £4.28 a month) . Hope this helps and thanks op for heads up

Is that as an existing ultimate subscriber? I’m looking to extend mine but not sure what the current conversion rate is.
  2. Jags4's avatar
Anyone know the conversion to GPU as a current GPU subscriber?
    focux007's avatar
Just gone for it comes in at just shy of 7 months as current gpu subscriber
  3. macamask's avatar
Sorry but I need help please… got four codes, had month or so existing gold on already (not GPU), added first code, it’s not asking me if I want to convert to Game Pass? Do I add them One at time and convert separately?

    cheers (edited)
    mattbat's avatar
Add all the codes. Then you need to purchase a month of Ultimate to convert it all
  4. MarkToTheMax's avatar
What's the situation for people who have zero membership? would I get a full 3 years of ultimate?
    stedaman's avatar
no, if u bought 3 years worth of gold u would get 2 years converted now. (edited)
  5. lookitskris's avatar
If I let my current game pass sub expire, buy 3 of these and then convert the lot - what would that give me? Not as good as it was but still the best way to go?
    mossmanfly's avatar
3 years Gold becomes 2 years Ultimate. Not as good as before as it was a direct 1:1 conversion. Still for £87 + the cost to join Ultimate (whether direct from Microsoft or a redeemable code) for 2 years, is still better than paying monthly at £12.99.

Edit for correct maths lol (edited)
  6. theghostie's avatar
Have they stopped doing the trick where you stack 3 years - pay £1 for ultimate trial and it converts the whole thing?
    aseddon130's avatar
You can put 3 years on and convert but it’s of a ratio of 3:2 so you would get 2 year ultimate.
  7. EN1GMA's avatar
are these UK codes? mines up in a few weeks so thinking i'll buy now, let my GP run out then add and convert.

This is all very confusing! Have Xbox for our two boys but have never had Gold. Does it come with extra games or is it just the chance to play live games with others? Thanks
    24_bauer_24's avatar
So Xbox live gold was what was needed to play live games with others back in the day.

A few years ago they introduced Game Pass Ultimate which includes access to a lot of extra games (300 or so) across Xbox and PC, Microsoft add a lot of their own games to game pass the day they are released. Game Pass Ultimate also let’s you play live with others without needing Gold.

Over the next few months Gold is being retired and replaced by an entry level version of game pass. Basically a rebranded version of Gold under the Game Pass name.

The reason this is so juicy is as we are in a transition period between the 2 products you can buy a gold subscription and it converts to a game pass ultimate subscription. If you don’t currently have Game Pass it will convert at a 3:2 ratio, so if you bought 3 years of gold, you’d get 2 years of Game Pass ultimate.
  9. phillis78's avatar
Hi, I’ve just got this but want to transfer it to the ultimate pass for 7 months like people are say img on here, but how do I transfer it over?
    jak22's avatar
Its not a transfer as such - but when you start a new GPU sub gold months on your account convert 3:2 to GPU months.

You can have up to 3 years of GPU this way so decide whether 7 months is enough and then look for the best way to start a GPU sub - maybe you'll see a £1 offer on xbox or worst case is the full monthly price for one month. Back in the day agreeing to recurring billing (turn off after) got another month added too. (edited)

My GPU expired in about 10 days. Just extended it till 07.2025 so thanks op.
    mossmanfly's avatar
Would have been better off to let it expire and do the conversion as that offers a better conversion rate still.

3 months Gold is 50 days for existing members. But with no Ultimate subscription then these 3 month codes convert to 60 days. So, an extra 10 days per 3 month code.
  11. kestrel1960's avatar
    I was out of subscription.
Ordered 3 years & converted to 2 years GPU.
    GPU Expiry date 9/9/25.
    Best price I’ve seen lately.
    Cheers Op. Heated (edited)

This adds 4 months Game Pass Ultimate for any existing Ultimate subscribers.

It'd be 8 months wouldn't it based on 3:2 ratio
  13. Smoking_Dealer69's avatar
Heads-up... looks like in the last month or so Xbox have changed it so that Gold only upgrades at a rate of 66%

£24.99 for the turkey one, bargain !

Gone up, was £23.99 2 weeks ago (after the price increase at the start of July)
  15. pwynne82's avatar
Thanks for this. It extended my son’s subscription from £11 a month to through to March 2024.
  16. STAROF2013's avatar
Sorry for asking but Ive read these comments and am still as confused as to if this would work for my little boy. I bought the xbox 3 years ago bought the 3 years gold and paid the £1 to upgrade to game pass ultimate. Thats all due to end soon but is still currently running and he has game pass. Do I just buy this and upload the cards or do I have to do something to change them to ultimate? Or does it just ask as I upload them all? Thanks for any help

I'm out of the loop and just realised it's now a 3:2 conversion on this and just popped my head in here 2mins ago, so not sure of the current prices of 1 month GPU.

However from the sounds of what you are saying and need for your Son, you need to get the code XBL Gold then wait until his current deal ends, use the XBL code and THEN also buy 1 month of GPU as a code or on his Xbox to convert the Xbox live gold into GPU at a rate of 3:2.

Hope I've got that right, as I say I'm out the loop also after 3yrs and need to renew. I'm sure someone with more recent experience will be along to help you also and tell me if I've advised you wrong or not.

    Hope this helps

Did anyone else buy this other than focux007?

Is it always 4 x 3 month codes? (edited)
    Premishana's avatar
Gave it a whirl myself and also got 4x 3 month codes. Compared to the other 3 month deal up at the moment it comes out as £7.49/3 months. Better than the current, not as good as the deal a few weeks ago.

£4.28/month of Ultimate is good enough for me though
  18. TJToon's avatar
Can I buy this use the 3 codes provided and still be able to use the £1 conversion trick for ultimate?
  19. Smoking_Dealer69's avatar
How many codes do they send this through as?

I currently have two three month codes applied to my account and I've heard horror stories of there being a hard-limit for codes
    mrstranger's avatar
Just ordered and received x4 codes

Does anyone know when in September Xbox gold ends and changed over I’m subbed til 9th sept
    mattbat's avatar
On 14th September it will change to Gamepass Core
  24. brian_lewis67's avatar
Just chanced it and got 4 separate codes.

In total redeemed for 7 days short of 7 months.
  25. Davemc167's avatar
Cheers just split the codes between my 2 boys accounts.
    mossmanfly's avatar
Can't you set up game sharing? Be better if you only have 2 accounts using it as you only need to pay for 1 subscription, then.
  26. Zeek123's avatar
I have no membership but I need ultimate for cloud gaming. Do I buy this, activate it then Xbox offers me ultimate?
    mossmanfly's avatar
You can buy this, and then you will need to actively join Ultimate. It won't just offer it to you.
  27. jak22's avatar
Equiv to £7.50 per 3 months - a deal for £7.99 only got to 40degs a couple of days ago and was £6.99 a week or so ago. But this is easier if buying many codes at the same time and who knows whether gold codes or cheap game pass core codes will be around in a couple of months time.

Its 50 days for 3 months to extend against 60 days now for starting a new sub so its worth thinking about extending if you have a long time left so long as they send it as 3 Months codes. (edited)
  28. Chiptivo's avatar
    It's actually cheaper to buy 4 x 3 month codes instead of 1 x 12month code. (edited)
    UltimatePhoenix's avatar
Save 99p? I need top up mine before they sell out so best off buying the 3 months I think as need around a year
  29. Adyx's avatar
I'm confused. I bought this and it now shows as
Next charge on 6/6/2024, £12.99 including VAT

My gamepass was expiring on 14th August 2023
I redeemed 4x3 codes for xbox gold. Then convertered that gold to ultimate with £12.99 recurring and got just under 12 months? (edited)
    mossmanfly's avatar
Did you have Gamepass before as in Ultimate or just normal Gamepass? As you said, you paid to join Ultimate after redeeming?

You don't get a 1:1 ratio now it's 3:2. So 12 months of Gold becomes 8 months Ultimate.

Hi, I’ve purchased this item for playing Minecraft, Roblox and Fortnite online gaming for little man to play with his friends, I’ve not activated it yet and since been told that I don’t need this for online gaming as long as I have the games! How long will this last before expiring or will it last until it is activated? I tried to play our Minecraft online but I have the Xbox edition on disc and I could seem to find the game he likes on it let alone. I’ve since googled and seen different types of Minecraft editions, so I’m now looking for a download version for Minecraft so he can play it today, shopto has been the cheapest but not sure on these, any help on the above would be most appreciated, I’m still a novice on the Xbox. Cheers

Mr Phillips, if you go ahead and activate the gold on his Xbox regardless, you can do a nifty trick where you.

    1. Apply all 4 x 3 month Gold codes

    2. Purchase one month of Gamepass ultimate

    3. This will give Phillips Jr access to the entire gamepass library for 7 months.

We're taking Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, Slime Rancher, Terraria, Forza and many many more.

Hi all, just to confirm what others have said and what worked for me:
-Previously had Game Pass Ultimate (GPU) subscription. (And had previously turned off auto-renew)
    -It had recently expired.
-Bought 3x of these 12 month passes for £87. Delivered instantly as 12x 3 months codes. (Accessed through ‘my orders’ on CD keys.)
-added the 12 keys to get 3 years Gold through Microsoft account (redeem code option).
-bought a further 1 month GPU from CDkeys for £8. (Note - there are stackable (required) and none-stackable codes - it warns of you select a none-stackable one)
-added the GPU 1 month which warns you of the 3:2 conversion and converts to 25 months of GPU from live, with this extra month.
-It gave me the option to get a free further month if I turned of reoccurring billing. OK then.

Total: £93 outlay (after £2 Top cash back) for 26 months. Works out about £3.60 a month.

Thanks for all the guidance from others. Just confirming what worked for me.
    phillis78's avatar
Hi, sorry it’s a late reply but I’m just setting it all up now, so if I buy one GPU from cdkeys is a stackable or non stackable I’ll be buying as I’m looking into this now. Thank you
